Medan is a city best known for its durian, the gateway to Lake Toba, and its deeply rooted coffee culture.
It is also a city we proudly consider home, as this is where our coffee journey first began.
While Medan is Indonesia's third or fourth largest city, depending on how it's measured, it is not always the first place people think of when it comes to coffee events. Known as one of the country's major hubs for crude palm oil, coffee, and other agricultural exports, the city has long been connected to coffee in more ways than one.
That is why it was such a pleasant surprise to see a dedicated coffee expo held here, with the Indonesia Brewers Cup Region 3 Championship taking place at ICX 2026 Medan.
The event may not have been the largest, but everyone who matters was there. Specialty coffee roasters from across the region, equipment suppliers, green coffee traders, and coffee professionals all gathered under one roof. The enthusiasm was undeniable. Parking was difficult to find, the venue was full throughout the day, and the energy reflected just how vibrant Medan's coffee community truly is.
Congratulations to the champion of the Indonesia Brewers Cup Region 3. We wish you the very best as you go on to represent us at the national competition.
We hope to see more events like this in the future, and perhaps next time, we can take part in an even more meaningful way than simply visiting.

對我們而言，這更是一座充滿意義的城市，因為我們的咖啡旅程正是從這裡開始。
雖然棉蘭是印尼第三或第四大城市（依不同統計方式而定），但它並不總是人們首先想到的咖啡活動城市。作為印尼重要的棕櫚油、咖啡及其他農產品出口中心，棉蘭與咖啡一直有著深厚的連結。
因此，能夠在這裡看到一場專業的咖啡展，並舉辦 ICX 2026 棉蘭站暨 Indonesia Brewers Cup 第三賽區選拔賽，令人感到格外驚喜。
活動規模或許不是最大的，但所有重要的咖啡產業人士都來了。來自各地的精品咖啡烘焙商、設備供應商、生豆貿易商，以及眾多咖啡專業人士齊聚一堂。現場氣氛十分熱烈，停車位一位難求，展場始終人潮滿滿，也充分展現了棉蘭咖啡社群的活力與凝聚力。
