[Balestier/ Novena] Tani Bistro & Bar — Modern Indian Comfort Food Done Right 🍛✨

Save this for your next Indian food craving 📌

Located at Zhongshan Mall in Balestier, Tani Bistro & Bar serves up modern Indian dishes in a casual and cosy setting — perfect for family meals, casual dates, or supper gatherings.

The menu had a good mix of classic Indian comfort food and tandoor dishes, with generous portions and rich flavours throughout.

Some highlights for us:

Tandoori Chicken Biryani — fragrant rice with juicy, smoky chicken

Chicken Tikka Masala — creamy, flavourful, and pairs so well with naan

Kerala Fish Curry — rich, coconuty, tangy, and super comforting

Dahi Puri — crispy, refreshing

Chicken Tikka Trio & Paneer Tikka — smoky, tender, and great for sharing

Their garlic naan was crispy, buttery, and perfect for dipping into the curries.

They’re also currently running Happy Hour promos:
• 20% off dine-in
• 25% off takeaway
• Unlimited Beer at $40 for 1 hour 🍺 (T&C apply)

Overall, a solid spot if you’re looking for hearty Indian food with a relaxed atmosphere in the Balestier area.

Happy Hour

[Bugis] Quaich Bar Wanderlust — A Hidden “Secret Bar” Experience 🥃✨

Save this for your next night out 📌

Tucked away near Bugis Junction, this spot really feels like a hidden gem — discreet entrance, dim lighting.

The ambience leans elegant and slightly moody, whisky-focused bar setup. Perfect for a quiet date or chill catch-up.

Their sparkling infused whisky was a highlight — light, refreshing, and surprisingly easy to drink.

What stood out most was their tarot card-inspired cocktail menu 🔮
Each drink comes with a theme/story, making the whole experience a bit more fun and interactive.

Food-wise:
- Chunky Chilli Crabby Dip — creamy, slightly spicy, great with crispy chips
- Spicy Burrata Picante — rich, creamy with a nice chilli kick
- Guinness-braised Beef Cheeks — super tender, deep flavour, comforting

Overall, it’s not just about drinks — the concept, ambience, and thoughtful menu make it a full experience.

[City Hall/ Esplanade - Funan] Godmama — Modern Peranakan Brunch Done Right 🍳✨

Save this for your next makan.📌

This place is not your typical brunch spot —
modern Peranakan flavours in a cosy, aesthetic space.

Came for brunch and honestly… that egg yolk moment 😮‍💨
Rendang & Roti — rich, tender beef with a runny egg yolk that just brings everything together.
Deep, bold flavours and super comforting.

The Babi Assam Baked Eggs were tangy and savoury. Slightly sour from the assam, packed with flavour — a unique twist on baked eggs.

The Dry Laksa was not too spicy or oily.

Nyonya Fried Wings + Ngoh Hiang were solid starters. Crispy, juicy, easy crowd-pleasers.

Dessert helped end things on a lighter note.
Sticky Red Date Pudding was decent,
but the vanilla bean ice cream? That was the real winner 🍨✨

Overall, everything was good…

but honestly, the flavours are what you’ll remember.

What makes this place stand out is the balance —
heritage Peranakan dishes, but presented in a modern brunch style.

Brunch is available during weekends from 10am to 3pm.

Babi Assam

Laksa

[CBD – Telok Ayer] Club666 — Singapore’s First Micro Club With Capsule Rooms 👀

This place is not your typical club — more like a micro club concept with capsule-style seating, giving a more intimate and curated nightlife experience.

Came here with friends and honestly… the space is much smaller than usual clubs, but that’s what makes it different. You’re closer to everything — the DJ, the crowd, the energy.
Atmosphere-wise, it’s quite a unique setup.

Capsule-style seating around the space, with LED lights and visuals, and the whole place feels more enclosed and high-energy.

We had the beer tower while chilling with the crew, just part of the night while the music was going on.

Didn’t stay too long, but it was definitely an interesting experience and something different from the usual SG nightlife scene.

If you’re looking for a more intimate, close-up clubbing experience with friends, this is one to check out.

[Clarke Quay] Fangko House — 21 Spice Levels Nearly Took Me Out 🌶️🔥

Save this for your next makan.📌

This place is not your typical café — more like Indo comfort food with a spicy twist.

Came for dinner and honestly… the Wet Indomie shocked me.
They have 21 spice levels and level 1 already spicy. Not kidding. Noodles were saucy, shiok, but lowkey dangerous. Sweat immediately 😭🔥

“The Madame” was my safe space.
Thick, buttery croque monsieur with ham + cheese, topped with a runny egg. Rich, comforting, very satisfying.

Mains were simple but solid.
Indomie hits if you love bold flavours. But must be ready for the spice.

Dessert helped save me.
Tiramisu — light, not too jelak, nice balance after the heat 🍰

Overall, everything was good…

but honestly, the spice levels are what you’ll remember.

What makes this place different is the contrast — cute, cozy café vibes but serving chaotic spice challenges.

“The Madame”

[Bugis / Lavender] Rustica — This Laksa Puff Lives Rent Free In My Headsg

Save this for your next makan.📌

This place is not your typical café — more like modern local food done properly.

Came for dinner and honestly… the Laksa Toupok Puff stole the whole show. Crispy beancurd skin on the outside, then inside got prawn + seabass soaked in thick laksa gravy. Rich, lemak, slightly spicy. Very shiok. Char Kway Teow had decent wok hei, not too oily.

Mains were solid too.
Fisherman White Pepper Soup — peppery, comforting, with fresh seafood sweetness.
Hainanese Curry Chicken — crispy chicken + thick curry. Mild spice, very lemak. Goes well with rice.

Desserts were surprisingly good. Beancurd & Tang Yuan — love the chewy al dente texture

Apam Berkuah — homemade pancake with fried banana + coconut ice cream, very nice combo.
Overall, everything was good…

but honestly, I’ll come back just for the laksa puff.

What makes this place different is they use local ingredients, from Singapore farms and fishermen, turned it into something more modern and creative.

Apam Berkuah —
