Rong Guang BBQ Seafood was first established in 1985. Mr Eng Boon Hor, who is known as Botak Joe, is the eldest son in the family. From the start, Boon Hor wanted to select a suitable symbol for the company. He settles on a stingray symbol which has become an iconic brand, recognized internationally. utation in Singapore's food industry grew steadily, winning countless awards for their famous dishes and homemade sauces. Furthermore, Boon Hor's appeared in television programmes, newspapers as well as magazines. Boon Hor success in Singapore is seen when Rong Guang BBQ Seafood was one of the companies selected to represent Singapore on Singapore Day Melbourne 2017 and in the Macau Food Festival of 2019. Rong Guang BBQ Seafood first location was at 120 Jalan Bukit Merah (2004 - 2011). It relocated to 301 Ulu Pandan Road for a good seven years until the government reclaimed the land. The Founder of Makansutra, K.F Seetoh Singapore's Food Ambassador, invited Boon Hor to join Makansutra in 2011. It was located at 8 Raffles Ave, #01-15, Esplanade Mall, 039802. It is our pride and honour that Rong Guang BBQ Seafood has a special place for tourists and has appeared in foreign television shows and media. (Year 2012 - 2018)
In 2014, Botak Joe Center Kitchen Pte Ltd established at Jalan Food Hub, Jalan Tepong. This Center Kitchen supplies food and prepares unique sauces to our existing outlets, besides organizing food delivery and mini buffets. Rong Guang BBQ Seafood will now focus on franchising & sauce distribution (Sambal Chilli, Sambal Belacan, Cincalok & Chilli Crab Sauce) to continue bringing the joys of food to all.
