This is the small brass shut-off under the sink. When it weeps at the joint, the flexible hose often rusts with it. Tape only hides the drip — the water still soaks the vanity, then the floor, then the unit below.

We isolate the water, replace the mini-valve, and check the hose instead of taping over the leak.
