Blue Plate SG was set up because two foodies (and ex-colleagues), Davyd and Christopher, just had too many food posts on their Facebook. They decided to take up suggestions from friends to start a food blog so that all their food posts can be "centralised" in one dedicated page, in order for others to easily refer to them when they need clear, unbiased recommendations on where and what to eat, wit
hout being "tricked" by deceptive marketing and advertisements. According to Dictionary.com, "Blue Plate" is defined as "pertaining to a full restaurant meal ordered as a single item, often as a special of the day". In essence, we seek to bring to your attention dishes or restaurants that we deem as "special" or at least worth a try. If you do not see particular restaurants or foods featured in our blog, it's probably because they are either not "special" enough or they have not come under our radar (or we are lazy to blog about it). Davyd and Christopher have a strong passion for food and a keen sense of taste, which enables them to critically evaluate the quality of food served and the culinary skills of chefs. In addition, Davyd is a qualified sommelier and has been invited for food and wine tastings. Christopher has tried innumerable restaurants (including Michelin-starred ones) all over the world.
