We're delighted to welcome Thai Agriculture Organic to Rice Exchange digital platform. The company was established in 2017 and is located in the northeast region of Thailand. It produces approximately 500 metric tons of #organic Thai jasmine #rice per year and similar amounts of organic brown rice. Rice Exchange launches tender feature

Rice Exchange has introduced new functionality that allows buyers of large volumes of rice — typically more than 20,000 tonnes — to purchase via tender. The new feature allows buyers, purchasing consortia, big industrials and institutional buyers to procure their rice requirements using single or global origin tenders.

Rice Exchange COO and co-founder, Frank Gouverne, explains the benefits of the tender function: “It offers large buyers speed, agility and cost efficiencies. The open nature of the tender mechanism means that buyers achieve price discovery adding confidence to the tender process."

Industriales del Arroz de Costa Rica (Indarroz), which accounts for 70% of Costa Rica’s rice industry, will hold its next tender on the Rice Exchange digital platform.

Indarroz Costa Rica to hold next tender on Rice Exchange. Indarroz, which accounts for 70% of Costa Rica’s rice industry, will hold its next #tender on the Rice Exchange #digital platform. The tender will be held using new functionality that allows buyers, a consortium of buyers, industrials & institutional buyers to purchase their #rice requirements from across the globe.

Rice Market: Long Awaited Iraq Tender Arrives

Iraq’s Ministry of Trade has announced a global tender for 30,000 MT of rice. This tender is outside of the US-Iraq Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and can be filled by any country. Companies have one week to submit bid documents to the Ministry.

«Les prix du riz, qui ont bondi après que les producteurs d’Asie du Sud-Est aient menacé de limiter les ventes à l’étranger au début de la pandémie, sont restés élevés en raison des goulots d’étranglement logistiques et des achats de la Chine. La congestion portuaire et le manque de conteneurs ont fait doubler les durées d'expédition dans certains cas, entraînant une nervosité sur le marché, a déclaré Frank Gouverne, COO de Rice Exchange, une plate-forme numérique pour le commerce du riz. «Les prix du fret ont doublé. Les gens attendent également trois à quatre mois pour leurs commandes, ce qui ajoute une pression supplémentaire sur le marché », a-t-il déclaré.»
