Jipangyi is actually what Koreans call a “walking stick” and how apt a name too for the corn stick snack many have traditionally enjoyed. A crispy stick that’s hollow on inside and curved at the end, great in taste and so much fun to chomp from one end to another. An identity crisis came about one day for the Jipangyi when we thought filling it with ice cream would be more than just good fun. Both

hollow ends filled with creamy ice cream seemed to make each Jipangyi stick further justify its gastronomic existence. Visually it looked like the most funny ice cream cone, sorry...ice cream tube to carry around. An injection of soft serve ice-cream finally completes the story of the Jipangyi...or has it just begun?
