What started as a humble supplier of oriental snack foods has over the years developed into one of Singapore’s largest manufacturers of You Tiao. The concept of Dough Culture took shape on one fine afternoon, while we were sipping our black coffee in a shopping mall and wishing for some youtiao. We decided to make it our business to bring youtiao and other dough fritters – which were only availabl
e in the market – to more places. Through the promotion of our traditional dough fritters and dough delicacies across Asia, we also hope to spread the appreciation for the dough culture. Travelling to different parts of Asia, we met several dough masters whom we mastered our art of making dough fritters from, after which we came up with our own success recipe. To breathe variety into our dough culture, we also took inspiration from the region’s signature dough delicacies, which were then tastefully adapted to titillate local taste buds. The only way to ensure that our stringent standards for our ingredients and process were fully met, and our quality and taste were consistent, was by automating the dough-making process. This called for a need for an intelligent dough-making machinery, which Alex – one of our founders – undertook with passionate enthusiasm. Drawing on his well of engineering expertise, he designed and built a dough-making machinery capable of making our dough fritters taste good, every time. Turning our idea into a delicious reality, we have been passing down our Asian-inspired Dough Culture for all to enjoy – till this very day.
