June's Cheese of the Month: RUTLAND RED

This June we're celebrating Rutland Red, a handmade Red Leicester from Long Clawson Dairy in Melton Mowbray - named Best British Cheese at the 2025 World Cheese Awards and ranked the 8th finest cheese in the world from a field of more than 5,200 entries.

Traditionally made, hand-buttered and cloth-bound, then matured for six months, it's firm yet flaky with a rich orange colour and a nutty, caramelised sweetness. Experience deep buttery notes and a delicate hint of caramel in every bite.

Introducing the new The Cheese Shop logo, an homage to the classic cheeses that started it all 💛

For our founders Chris and Ching, cheese was their favourite snack growing up. Chris on Cheddar and Ching on Kraft Singles, together they discovered classic cheeses like Emmental - whose shape and signature holes are the inspiration behind the new design.

Over the years, we have grown and adapted. Yet through it all, our mission has stayed the same: to bring the wide, wonderful world of cheese to our little tropical island, and make discovering cheese genuinely fun and accessible.

We think this new logo represents that and we can’t wait to discover even more with you.
