The importation of trillion tons of food stuff to Sierra Leone will never end the strive to hunger unless we grow them ourselves and we cannot end starvation if we are not ready to fold our sleeves and get to work(farming).

The Yanga Agricultural Organization-YAO is a community based organization- CBO established by the national chairman, Mr. Eric. Tamba Sam-Yanga and other trustees in order to prioritize farming in the district and beyond. This agricultural organization is privately working with a structured administrative board at Lei chiefdom in Kono District.

It is currently operating in four various communities in the chiefdom; Yangadu, Queenyndor, Bomboro, Yawandor and Boroma . Already, vast lands are now cultivated of rice and few areas of plantain and pepper. As estimated, 80 and more hectares of land is holding the first seeds of rice to be cultivated for it first production next year.

YAO-SL has strongly opted to make Sierra Leone a nation of food sufficiency and sustenance.

THE YANGA AGRICULTURAL -YAO a complete therapy of hunger-free Salone 🇸🇱

The era that states man far journey to civilization described us as Hunters and Gatherers. Since then, this concept of early occupation had never faded amongst the Yanga family of Kono District and beyond.

To start, the Yanga's are wildly known to be brave and fearless hunters in the Kono clan and they are traditionally recognized as "THE HUNTERS"

This aspect gives evidence that agriculture as well has been a way of normal phenomenon in Yangadu and Queenyndor villages.

Through the long quest to hunger-free nations in the world, it is believed that our old customs recorded in history must not be avoided nor forgotten(farming). Although advancement in technology is in increase most people suffer from hunger globally especially in Africa and Sierra Leone to be specific.

This has mostly led governments to a failed regimes of increased rates in foodstuffs and hunger. Indeed, to this moments the country still lacks better agriculture and food security systems.

Notwithstanding, the Yanga Agricultural Organization-YAO is developed to foster the government initiative to feed the country and also demonstrate the prowess in what the Yanga's are traditionally known for ( hunting wide Animals and agriculture)
