It is with deep sorrow and a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Nyababa Elijah, a young daughter of the Gawaar Community.
According to reports from her close friends, Nyababa and others were detained for three days while on their journey to Libya, allegedly without access to food, water, or basic human necessities. Although Nyababa and her group managed to escape, she tragically lost her life during the difficult journey that followed.
Nyababa was a young soul with dreams of a better life and a brighter future. Her passing is a painful loss not only to her family and the Gawaar Community but also to South Sudan as a whole.
Losing a young person with so much potential and so much to contribute to our society is heartbreaking. We pray for strength and comfort for her family, friends, and everyone mourning this tragic loss.
May her beautiful soul rest in eternal peace. 🕊️💔
