‼️BREAKING: Meta Shuts Door on South Sudan Creators: Monetization Tools Out of Reach.

However, Meta made a decision not to introduce its monetization features in South Sudan due to the absence of infrastructure stability and logistical issues. According to the representatives of Meta, the services such as in-stream advertisements, Stars, and ad revenue sharing depend on stable electricity, internet, and payment processing. At the moment, Meta cannot guarantee those resources for creators in South Sudan.

In their letter to Hon. Ateny Wek Ateny, Meta informed the government that the lack of infrastructure would not ensure smooth performance and meeting Meta's operational standards. In addition, they pointed out that the implementation of monetization features in South Sudan could lead to low earnings of creators, technical issues, and decreased participation of advertisers.

The decision was taken despite the initiatives and requests of the authorities and content creators in South Sudan to receive access to the income generation tools of Meta. However, Meta did not mention any deadlines or prerequisites for revising their decision at the moment.

: The origin of the air we breathe and the smile you make comes from SPLA

During the celebration of SPLA Day by the SPLM-Rwanda chapter, the Interim chairperson Cde. Atak Tong Atak addressed his fellow youth/comrades on the role of SPLA in young people who are growing up to become leaders of the country.

“ On this SPLA DAY, let’s trace back what we should always not forget as South Sudanese citizens, home and here abroad. We have come from a far as a country, starting from just being ordinary dirty black people in Sudan who want to be acknowledged for their identity and strength and the souls of lions. Those were the people we aim to celebrate their success with today.

We have so far had a country that is divided into an unacceptable series of political parties every morning we wake up, and it’s not a surprise, it has always been the spirit of few ungrateful people within since the liberation struggle.

However, as young people, we honestly should keep close to our hearts and in our beautiful minds that the air we breathe and the smile we make comes from SPLA. It’s something we are always grateful for.

You should wear your red cap as a proud member,
and know that it’s this party that will make you safe.

Suspected Monkeypox case reported in Warrap State

The Ministry of Health in Warrap State has reported a suspected case of monkeypox (Mpox), with the patient currently admitted and isolated at Kuajok Hospital in the state headquarters.

According to the State Director for Primary Health Care, Dek Akot Dek, the patient is under treatment and observation while health authorities await laboratory confirmation.

“The signs and symptoms showed that it is a suspected monkeypox case. The patient has been isolated in the hospital and is under treatment. We have not yet confirmed the disease, but we are in the process of taking samples for laboratory testing,” Dek said.

“Mpox already exists in South Sudan, particularly in Central Equatoria. People in Warrap frequently travel to Juba and other states, so the disease is not far from here.”

Dek explained that Mpox symptoms usually appear between five and 21 days after exposure and often begin with flu-like signs such as fever, chills, headache, muscle aches, back pain, fatigue, and swollen lymph nodes. He noted that some patients may show only a few symptoms while others may experience several.

The health authorities have urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspected symptoms early to health facilities to support quick identification, treatment, and containment of the disease.

Residents have also been advised to observe preventive measures to reduce the risk of infection as investigations continue.
