A nonprofit in Lone Tree, Colorado just started something that made us stop and think about what we try to do here every single day.
They partnered with a local coffee shop to host weekly meetings for teenagers. In the 2024, 2025 school year alone, they're bringing together about 75 students each week. Already, 183 different teens have found community through these gatherings.
The founder said something that stuck with us: teens need more than programs. They need places where they feel they truly belong, where getting support doesn't feel like a big deal.
We know that feeling. Someone walks in carrying weight. Orders their usual. Sits in their corner. A regular notices and asks how things are going. The barista remembers their name. By the time they leave, something shifts.
We're not therapists. We can't fix what's heavy. But we notice. We remember. We keep a quiet corner warm and waiting.
If you're struggling with something, text or call 988 anytime. And if you need a place where the pace is different, where someone knows your name, where you can be alone without feeling lonely, you know where to find us.
