《Our Low-cost sign》
We’ve been doing more markets lately, and every booth is a different size.
I keep thinking about how to make ours look nicer and more unique, while still keeping our Latin American style.
Seeing other vendors, I’m honestly amazed😳
Everyone is so creative.
I know improving the booth is an investment, so I’ve been thinking about getting a cooler sign.
But every time we set up and see this banner, all the memories come back.
It was our very first sign, from when we had almost nothing.
In 2025, we were preparing for a taco festival at Yuanshan. It was really hard. We made over 300 desserts with just a small home oven.
Alex worked during the day, I was pregnant, and I had to run everywhere . We needed a sign, but didn’t want to spend much.
“Okay, I’ll just paint it myself.”
So I bought fabric, paint, and tools, and stayed up all night making it.
We worked until morning, slept for one hour, and went to the market. The paint wasn’t even fully dry.
But we loved it.
It’s not perfect, but it’s real.
It feels like us.
Handmade things aren’t perfect, but they can’t be copied. Simple, honest, and close to people.
Maybe one day we’ll change it.
But I know I’ll always miss this one.💖
