Since year 2006 GFP has added to its manufacturing activities the export of
various organic spices and herbs. GFP has now built a sustainable trading partnership with small holder farmers and facilitated the formation of an Organic Farmers Association in Muheza district in the region of Tanga north of Tanzania. GFP is playing an active role in the promotion of organic agriculture and fair trade in East Usambara Mountains and increase of access of small – scale farmers organic products to the world markets that are produced with strict emphasis on sustainable organic agriculture practices. In line with its vision of becoming a lead Tanzanian and East African exporter of organic agricultural and other natural resources products, particularly spices, GFP Limited’s mission is to promote in a sustainable way the growth of the said agricultural and other natural resources products by contracting small-scale farmers whom it trains in organic farming by using environmental friendly farming practices. The farmers receive fair prices by earning a premium over the local prices and the employees are paid fair wages and focuses on the development of rural areas and communities, creation of employment and giving women equal rights.
