How do we grow the formal economy while protecting consumers and government revenue?

This was one of the key discussions at today's EY Post-Budget Panel, where TBL PLC Managing Director Michelle Kilpin highlighted the importance of addressing illicit alcohol as part of Tanzania's broader economic and public health agenda.

With a significant portion of alcohol consumption occurring outside the formal market, the challenge extends beyond revenue collection. It is also about consumer safety, fair competition and creating an environment where compliant businesses can continue to invest, create jobs and contribute to national development.

As Tanzania advances its economic growth ambitions, a balanced approach built on effective enforcement, predictable policy and consumer awareness will be critical to strengthening the formal economy and delivering sustainable outcomes for all stakeholders.

TBL Celebrates National Recognition at the 2025 National Quality Awards

We are proud to announced as the 1st Runner-Up in the “Largest Company of the Year” category at the 2025 National Quality Awards, organized by Tanzania Bureau of Standards (TBS).

It is with deep sadness that Tanzania Breweries PLC (TBL) announces the passing of its Board Chairman, Mr Leonard Mususa.

Mr Mususa served as Chairman of the Board for seven years, providing steadfast leadership, guidance and counsel to the Board and Management. His contribution to the Company and his commitment to good governance will be remembered with great respect and appreciation.

On behalf of the Board, Management and employees of TBL, we extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and loved ones during this difficult time.

We honour his life, his service and the legacy he leaves behind.

May his soul rest in eternal peace.
