Story time: How I accidentally ended up at Wabi Sabi 🍽️✨

Let's talk about my recent visit to Wabi Sabi, located inside Hemingway's Hotel in Entebbe (Google Maps will take you straight there 😉)

Here's the funny part: we were actually looking for a place that served hearty, familiar comfort food. Asian fusion wasn't even on my agenda that afternoon. So we headed to Hemingway's, genuinely thinking it was a completely different place from Wabi Sabi (mainly because I didn't bother consulting our good friend Google 😅). It wasn't until we arrived that I realized Wabi Sabi is actually the restaurant inside the hotel. I'll admit, I was a little skeptical at first, but their menu and warm service completely changed my mind.

Here is the full breakdown of the experience:

The Menu & The Service 📜: The staff were incredibly knowledgeable and guided us through a beautifully detailed menu. What truly won me over was their “Far and Familiar” section. If you are dining with someone who isn't quite ready for sushi and just wants a classic fish dish, beef dishes, or other continental favorites, this section is an absolute lifesaver. They also get bonus points for offering a kids’ menu!

The Food 🍣 : If you are a sushi enthusiast, this spot needs to be on your radar. We ordered the chicken Katsu roll, which had crispy chicken, cucumber, avocado, and tonkatsu sauce, and it was an absolute hit. Pro-tip: Go in with an open mind, especially if you are exploring Asian fusion for the first time. The flavors are definitely worth stepping out of your comfort zone for. I had the Sticky Honey Garlic Pork Chops, and believe me when I say they were spectacular, packed with flavor right to the bone. I loved the generous amount of vegetables that were served with them.

The Vibe 🌿 : The aesthetics are exactly what you want for a peaceful dining experience. The ambiance is calm, elegant, and perfectly relaxed. It manages to feel deeply intimate, even when other guests are around.

One thing I genuinely love about Yums Cafe Ntinda is their consistency and not just in one area.

From the customer care, to the food quality, to the drink presentation… it’s always the same standard every time, and that’s rare.

If you haven’t been yet, this is your sign, just go ahead and do it 🤗

I'm usually a plain water girl, so trying Aquamist was definitely me switching things up.

But let's be honest, sometimes the challenge isn't avoiding water; it's just that plain water can feel a bit repetitive.

That's where flavored options come in.

I've tried the strawberry, peach, and lemon so far, and lemon is easily my favorite. It's light, refreshing, and most importantly, not overly sweet. What actually stood out to me was the "no added sugar" label.

If you struggle to hit your daily water intake, something like this can be a simple, realistic switch, especially if you want flavor without the sugar crash.

If you’ve been craving a space that feels a little slower, a little softer… this might be it

💸 Price range; Mid to upscale, expect around UGX 40,000–90,000 per person depending on what you order (mains + a drink)

✨ Perfect for; date nights, soft catch-ups, or those “let’s just go somewhere nice” evenings

Sol Restaurant is located on Upper Kololo Terrace (just opposite the turn-off to Torino), I finally ticked Sol off my list. I’ll admit it, I went in mostly for the complimentary bread I’ve seen all over my feed! 😅

As we browsed through the menu, I loved how diverse it was. They offer premium quality cuts (which I’m definitely coming back to explore properly next time✨️), but I finally settled on their glazed pork ribs😌

One thing I really appreciated is how inclusive their menu is, with several vegetarian options clearly marked with a “V” for easy spotting 👌🏾

Before the mains arrived, they served complimentary focaccia bread and oh my goodness 😮‍💨 it was fresh, warm, crunchy on the outside, soft and buttery on the inside. The kind of bread you keep reaching for without even realising it

When the ribs arrived, first impressions? Generous portion and looking absolutely delicious. Taste-wise? Did not disappoint. Savoury, sweet, smoky, and the meat was so tender it practically fell apart with every cut

The ambiance is beautifully balanced, the indoor seating feels like a fine dining experience, while the outdoor space is more relaxed and casual, perfect depending on the mood you’re going for

🚗 Pro-Tip: Parking is free but tight! Get there early during peak hours

I’d definitely recommend you check out Sol Restaurant if you’re in Kololo

Are you looking for a calm, inspiring working space right in the heart of the city, somewhere you can focus, host a meeting, or simply escape the noise? Let me introduce you to The Knorth

I’ve been to Tavola a few times, but somehow I had never noticed the different spaces they have to offer

The Knorth is one of their gems: a thoughtfully designed spot created specifically for people who want to work away from home or the office

From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is calm, quiet, and beautifully put together. It’s the kind of space that immediately makes you want to open your laptop, order a coffee, and get things done

Their menu leans heavily toward healthy, wholesome meals...think nourishing dishes, fresh juices, and energising options that keep you going during a long work session. Whether you want a light coffee break or a full lunch that refreshes your body, they’ve got you

Just a heads-up, because they’re fully committed to a healthy menu, you won’t find sodas or fizzy drinks here, but their fresh juices and teas more than make up for it

I genuinely loved the space, the next time I’m working away from home, I don’t think I’ll go anywhere else… unless you have suggestions you think can compete! But for now, The Knorth is officially the place to be
