One of the Farm projects is Rabbit keeping.
I wouldn't be wrong to say that any mixed farm without rabbits is an incomplete one due to its superiority over other projects.
1. FINANCIAL REASONS.
Rabbit keeping is said to be one of the projects that generate income so fast. They multiply faster, easy to maintain in terms of feeding and health wise.
You do not need alot of money to start up a rabbit project but remember it pays well once properly managed.
Someone will almost be required to have Capital for the parent stalk and the shelter (cages).
You need not worry about their feeding because even when you fail to get money for purchasing feeds, rabbits can survive on various grasses. (We have more than 20 types of grasses that can be served to them).
No need to spend costs on monthly treatments as is done in other animals/ birds.
2. BEST SOURCE OF MANURE
Rabbit waste is said to be the best for crops especially the urine and it’s also another source of income.
Urine serves both as manure and pesticides (consult us for more info on how to make use of it)
At KIMN, we totally don't spend on manure for our farming.
3: DELICIOUS MEAT
Rabbits provide white meat with very low cholesterol and this is the healthiest meat that is even recommended by health experts. Besides being healthy, it's very tasty.
There is more that we can't explain all here but just find time and search about rabbits, surely u will love it.
We started with only 8 rabbits and currently we have more than 80 in a short period of time and we expect newborns monthly.
We chose to deal in only two breeds i.e. California and News land white and we had reasons to why. However we hope to soon introduce other types and we only choose those that have a very good meat to bone ratio.
