*BENJAMIN NETANYAHU TOLD ISRAEL SECURITY TO STAND DOWN IN CHUCK NORRIS MEETING*
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu resurfaced a nearly decade-old clip in light of Chuck Norris’ death.
Norris, 86, was pronounced dead Friday a day after he was rushed to the hospital for a medical emergency in Kauai, Hawai’i. Reports suggest that the beloved Hollywood star remained in good health leading up to the incident. Just days before the hospitalization, Norris took to Instagram to share a post about his birthday.
Netanyahu, 76, shared a heartwarming photograph of the pair from 9 years ago while sharing his condolences after his passing, describing Norris as “a close personal friend.”
“Sara and I were deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Chuck Norris, a great friend of Israel and a close personal friend,” Netanyahu wrote on X.
“Chuck brought martial arts and the warmth of his character to millions around the world,” he continued, adding a Jewish mourning prayer, “May his memory be a blessing.”
The photograph was taken during a meeting from nearly a decade ago shared on the Israeli Prime Minister’s official YouTube page.
During the roughly minute-long clip, Norris meets with and embraces Netanyahu alongside his wife, Gena O’Kelley, and at least two private security figures.
At the beginning of the clip, Netanyahu shakes hands with and welcomes Norris, remarking, “Israel is strong, but it is indestructible now.”
Norris went on to introduce the prime minister to his wife before revealing his excitement for the meeting.
“We’ve been looking forward to this. Believe me, you’ll always have my support,” Norris told Netanyahu, to which he said, “I appreciate it.”
Norris went on to introduce his security detail, named Larry and Kyle, who shook hands with the Israeli leader.
After greeting the security guards, the longtime hardline security Likud leader joked, “I think we can ask our security people to leave, we don’t need them anymore… So, we can get rid of everyone. Tell them to clear the building. They can go, that’s fine.”
Norris, whose full name is Carlos Ray Norris, was reportedly attending martial arts training in Hawai’i before he suffered from a medical episode.
Friends claim that he sounded in good spirits over the phone before the incident.
