To keep the algorithm pleased with a Friday afternoon post, please enjoy this photo of one of the most hilarious products I have ever found on a grocery store shelf: low sodium salt.
So the deal here is that some of the "salt," i.e. sodium chloride has just been replaced with potassium chloride, which is another salt but that one cannot be labeled as "salt" on a food label. While there isn't anything wrong with this product I don't like that folks could be duped into thinking this is a healthier find. The literature connecting high sodium intake to cardiovascular disease is about as clear as mud, and we'd all be better off if we just ate less processed food. 👍
