We don’t get the paper, but my folks do and sent this picture on! Lol!

When there’s music playing, especially live music, you can bet we will be dancing. They just so happened to play “our” song when we walked up. Great moment. And looking forward to more moments like this at Cypress Plaza.

Went down to the ribbon-cutting for the new park downtown with my folks. I have been super excited about this park project since it was first announced and couldn’t wait to see it in person.

What a treat this will be for our Abilene community! Plenty of green space to kick off your shoes, put down a blanket and do a cartwheel. Maybe not me, but still. Lol!

I think there are a few things that will need some tweaking over time: more trash cans and some doggie bags being two that stand out.

But all in all, it’s very inviting and from my understanding, there will be more to-go options from the local eateries along with “walking” adult beverages.

I know when we had littles, a favorite outing was throwing down a picnic and relaxing while the kids ran out their energy.

We stayed for a delicious dinner at Cypress Street Station and watched so many families come down to check things out. Kids throwing balls and walking on the water feature. Loved seeing it!

Food, food and more food.

Empty-nesting does open the door to eating out more often and just getting to run around like we did when we were dating.

And that’s pretty much what the weekends are for us.😉

From the sweet courtyard patio at El Fenix Abilene to dive bar NBA finals watching at The Handle Bar to Saturday afternoon West Texas vibes at The Ice House at LSDG and rainy beach vibes at Grain Theory’s block party to more patio noshing at Allen Ridge’s Fuzzy's Taco Shop - it was a pretty great weekend in Abilene.🙌🏼

Shout out to all the business owners/planners/vendors who put so much time and effort into making things happen here in town.🫶🏼

Y’all!!! The wedding was beautiful!!! All the hard work paid off. Seeing our daughter and now son-in-law begin their married life together was such an honor. Wishing them tons of success and love!!!🤍

Now, time to sit back and enjoy the beach for a while. Hope y’all are having fun up in Abilene! Missing good ol’ West Texas.🤠

Hey friends! Sure have been missing my weekly outings there in Abilene, but still keeping an eye on the local happenings.

Rest assured, we are eating well down here on the gulf. Lol!

Has anyone been down to Surfside Beach before? If not, add it to your beach bucket list! Lots of great people, views and food!
