We would like to thank Tera Howard for her work here at Powell Seeds as Office Administrator. She will be returning to work for Logan County where she had previously worked for 21 years. She will be promoted from her previous Logan County position to an Administrative Hearing Officer! Thank you Tera!!

Detasseling starts tomorrow (Friday July 17) at 7am at 6301 ST RT 701, Ada, Ohio 45810. We will also work Saturday the 18th at 7am. We will try to work till noon both days. 
Bring water, sunscreen and a hat. We will NOT be wearing masks in the field. If you are socializing at our meeting point you will need to wear a mask.

Hard to believe it is May 23 already. Pray for sun and heat.
This robot is at the production facility near Piqua Ohio that does the treating, blending (5% of the minor non-insect resistant corn blended into the 95% of the major insect resistant corn) and bagging of our seed corn. This robot was installed in 2013. It has done over 1 million bags.
We bought a robot!!! 😉
Made it home late Wednesday with our “new” detasseler. A wide load all the way from Minnesota made for a stressful couple days. Looking forward to using it next summer.

The corn is wet this morning! We have 38 brave workers today. The cool weather feels good compared to yesterday afternoon.
