Pelts for sale! These are all from Merino cross lambs, so if you’ve bought any of our Romney pelts previously, these are softer and a pinch shorter wool length than the purebred Romneys. Our daughter wants to keep them all because they’re so soft, but we already have plenty!! Prices posted in the comments on the overview photo and do not include shipping. We are a pet friendly home.

A couple of them have VM deep in the wool, towards the skin. I tried to take photos of the worse spots, but it is not that way throughout the entire pelt. A couple also have some thin spots or holes, in the back and I have photographed those also.

Please PM with any questions!!
Thank you for looking!!

Another great use for wool!

The sheep’s wool is one of the best materials on Earth, especially when it comes to the insulation. It is long-lasting, effective, and sustainable!

We had triplets this morning. The littlest one was left behind and cold when we found her. In order to get her body temperature up, we put her in a garbage bag, with her head out, in the open, and put her in a warm water bath. Why the garbage bag?!!???
1) it helps retain her momma’s smell on her; doesn’t wash it off.
2) there’s no need to dry her off before she gets chilled again, because she’s not wet.

We left her in a pen with her momma, after she had a good drink of colostrum under her own sucking (i.e. we didn’t have to feed her). She was fighting to stand and her momma wasn’t disowning her. Let’s hope her fighting spirit gets her through today!!

❤️ WOOL! ❤️

Wool items last because wool fibers can bend up to 20,000 times before breaking. This durability far surpasses other fibers, making wool tough to tear and resistant to abrasion — visit our website for more benefits of wool: www.americanwool.org/wool-101/science-of-wool/

We started lambing 2021 with a set of twin moorit ram lambs. Sire is a CVM. Dam is very mixed breed, but has had multiple champion fleeces over the years, both on the hoof and fleeces.

Of course the chance of a polar vortex comes the week we’re probably going to start lambing. This is a “normal” thing for sheep farmers, so I should have predicted it about 145 days ago 🤣
