Well it is done. It is hard wire and getting cold. We were thinking about renting it out to people to hang there meat. What does everyone think?
Just a few updates on the cold storage. It is coming along. It is placed and leveled. All the stuff is bought to put it together. now it is just putting it all together.
We have new addition to the farm. Moo Moo is the black one. Buddy is the black and white one.
Hello everyone, I hope all is well with you all. It has been many years in the plans but I thought I would never get it. We are starting to clear a space for a 16 ft. walk-in refrigeration unit. I needs some TLC but at least it is bought. I will see if the other part of my plan will take off in the future.
Well I have a story to tell today. We bought cattle from the neighbor. They also bought a couple of piglets from me. So when they were up to deliver the cattle they picked up there piglets. So when they left the farm the piglet were making noise because they were separated. Not to long after they left I got a message. The boys had let the piglet out in the pen. One of the piglets went right though the square panel and across the driveway. Mind you across the driveway is a pond. They all started for it, and the pig said no way. It swam across the pond and up the other side it went. I started heading down the driveway. She said it was like the piglet was heading back to my house. After a little chasing they got it back in the pen. I just didn't know I had pigs that were taught to swim. I wonder a new selling point? lo Glad everything worked out.
I will have more piglets in June. I have a sow due May 1. I will post pictures when they get her.
I have 6 berkshire cross piglets. They are up for grabs. $150 each
Well I got home with them. The bad news is that I only got 10 for sale. Two I will not sell because they are hurt. The person I got them from didn't tell me that until I was down there. I hope I have enough.
Ok everyone that is on my list for piglets. I am going to pick up 12 of them in the morning. This is all I am going to be able to get I think. I will be contacting you for pick up times. Please get your pens ready.
Oreo looks just about as wide as she is long. She is due in May.
Hoss is being lazy today. Just a side note. See his tusk hang out. That is why pigs are not pets. They will hurt you.
Guess What showed up last night....... I not sure when the boar got to her but this is the gift she left me.
Hello everyone, As some of you know that I have a list of people that want Piggies. Well I think I have filled the list with pigs. I didn't have enough piggies to fill the list. I thought I had some to fill the list. After trying to call this person for 2 weeks now I have given up on this person. I by chance he calls me and said I have piggies I will deal with that if it happens. So today I set out to find piggies for everyone. I traveled for 4 and half hours to go to an auction. They could not tell me if any piglets would be there. There was not one piglet that made it to the auction. I talked to people and got some leads. I called people and traveled farther. I missed a great bunch of piglets by a couple hours. I was losing hope. Well this same person said that he had a litter born a couple days ago. I went to look at them. In the time I talked to him and going to see them, there was another litter born. These litter were 5 each. I bought them. He also have another litter due any day. I bought them also. I think I will have enough piglet to fill everyone that is on the list. Now this being said it will be a month before they are ready to go. Please remember I don't know this person so I went on his word that he will not sell them out from under me. So everyone please pray that everything goes as planned.
To everyone that is on the list for piggies. I have 5 ready to go. They are 5 weeks old. Dad is Duroc and York. Nice looking piglet.

Life on the farm is never done. I have had the barn redesign so that I can have three sows in there. Now on pig time.
I have three butcher hogs ready to go.i am in the mood to trade. I will take a cord of firewood for a butcher hog. It has to be a full cord of tamarack and fir. Butcher hogs are between 250 and 300 pounds. You will have to slaughter and cut up or make arrangements to have the butcher to do it.
Just want to say Happy Thanksgiving to everyone.
These little guys are ready to go. There is 5 left. $100 each.
we have babies. A new litter on the ground. More later.
How are everyone's pigs doing?
