We had a good week, a long week, a tired week but a ton of work was accomplished. Monday we prepared for the freeze that everyone outside of farming said it's not gonna happen. Yall better get a farmers almanac. We turned on frost protection at midnight, that means a lot of checking pumps, sprinklers and going from field to field all night. We felt safe to turn it off around 1pm and there was still ice in the field. Whewww long night. Guess what we have a state meeting put on a happy face and we handled it great. The rest of the week was in person meetings, phone calls, setting up for season, and more paperwork than we have ever had. But we have a plan. Our favorite inspector/ spotter/ friend Seth come out it was a surprise last meeting of the week and he made it all better. He said we are ahead of the game, the fields look exceptionally great, the bees are doing their jobs, the blooms, new growth and plants are beautiful and he was very very happy. We had very little damage from the frost but it didn't effect us. We needed a win and we made our boss happy. Our hearts go out to the Florida growers who have lost 80% of their crops to the weather. We were in that boat last year and it hurts our hearts. It makes a huge difference when we know people have our back Larry Harrell and Heather Moore thank you so much for always being there no matter what we need. Looking forward to a great season and hope to see everyone getting some wonderful berries. George and Bonnie
