This month it'll be 4 years since my house was "finished" & I could finally move in. This basement area was sapose to be my 2nd kitchen but didn't get all hooked up until now. (All the plumbing etc was rough installed during the building of home)
4 LONG years of looking at that wall, moving 2×4s & trim umpteen times, insulation, moving the many boxes that say "kitchen basement from gma's" & tripping over the other building supply "stuff".
It's not done yet, need to find metal shelving units & chopping block type table, island or stainless steel table for prepping food. Then I can unpack & get everything put in it's place.
The potholder my Grandma hand made. It will be hung up as a remembrance as to how much she influenced me to what I am today.
Totally excited to try out the convention double ovens! It has SO many options including proofing breads & air fry! 😳

These are ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! Soft & has chewy crunch side. Made with sourdough.

Why you should always put a coin on a frozen cup of water before storms.

It's called the one cup tip. You put a cup of water in your freezer. Freeze it solid and then put a quarter on top of it and leave it in your freezer. That way when you come back after you've been evacuated you can tell if your food went completely bad and just refroze or if it stayed Frozen while you were gone. If the quarter has fallen to the bottom of the cup that means all the food defrosted and you should throw it out. But if the quarter is either on the top or in the middle of the cup then your food may still be ok. It would also be a great idea to leave this in your freezer all the time and if you lose power for any reason you will have this tip to fall back on. If you don't feel good about your food, just throw it out. The main thing is for all to be safe.

I just finished up the last rack of breads at 11pm. All were new recipes to me with the exception of the Depression Era bread.
Total fail on appearances but...taste testing they are DELICIOUS!!

**UPDATE. ALL DUCKS HAVE BEEN REHOMED **
Five male ducks, four jumbo pekins & one Rouen needing a new pasture to frolick in or maybe you have a nice vintage cast iron frying pan or dutch oven. Your choice as to what your final purpose is with them. They leave here waddling & quacking tho.
These guys are fed VERY well & it shows by their not so thin waistline 😆

It's that time of year to take orders for Old Fashioned Cut Out Cookies! $7.50 per plate("Baker's Dozen") or box of cookies(26) for $15.50. This is not mine. Author is unknown but what a fantastic idea!

My friend’s Grandma kept this table cloth on her table, when Company came to visit..she’d have them sign their name with a White Crayon. Then, she’d go back and Stitch it on there, permanently. She doesn’t know what year she started this....by the names she’s thinking at least 70 + years....She now brings this out the day before Thanksgiving...for memories. I thought I pass this along in case others wanted to start the tradition. ❤️

Husband & I did some product testing tonight. Mango Jalapeno Glaze on a chunk of Venison backstrap & Tropical Cowgirl Glaze on the other. Oh my goodness, they BOTH tasted amazing but the Mango was our favorite. I even put a big spoonful of the Mango Jalapeno Glaze on my other meat & on my cabbage! 😋
Sides tonight were fried onions sauteed in bacon grease & cooked cabbage.

She was looking down at her lap when she said that to me as if trying to shirk a shadow that had followed her for more than twenty-five years. I paused before I answered.

"Do you think it might be time for a new metaphor?"

When she looked up at me, I realized I was the first person to suggest that she could.

I have had the great pleasure of knowing many women who have been told, over and over again, that they are "too much." Take it down a few notches, they are told, over and over and over again, in fourteen million different ways. Men don't like you because they feel like you're stronger than them. Women are intimidated by you. You're too opinionated, too loud, too direct, too sexy, too bossy, too bitchy, too emotional, too moody, too funny. Too much like a guy. This is for all the amazing women who have been labeled "too much" their entire life by the small men and women who didn't, or couldn't, see you.

It's time to burn that metaphor like a 70's polyester bra.

You're not too much. You probably haven't shown the world nearly enough.

We need you to be your strong, imperfect, direct, funny, brash, hilarious, sometimes intimidating self. We need you to surround yourself with people who don't need to diminish you in order to feel more secure. We need your ideas, your vision, your leadership, your presence... all of it, 120 proof. If we need a chaser after being around you, that's up to us to figure that out.

It might be time to stop taking care of people who can't handle you. It might be time to stop applying for jobs and start your own company. It might be time to write the next book without the editor's voice in the back of your mind telling you to soften your message.

Be a stay at home mom. Be the President of Harvard, or the United States, or your book club. Stop saying sorry all the time. You'll need a tribe of people cheering you on as you do this because haters gonna hate. This tribe will cheer your every victory without the petty jealousy that has stifled your ambition. This tribe will get in your face when you actually are too much (and you'll love them for it). For many of you, the nonstop stories of sexual harassment, assault, and r**e this last month have brought up memories that you've struggled to overcome for much of your life.

You'll need a tribe of people that you can rage with and heal with so that your true self can emerge and stand up straight. Don't know anyone like that?' Let these words be the start of a conversation with a new tribe.

Guess what?! I'll be at SoLu on Sunday 12noon to 4pm for day #2 of SoLu's Holiday Craft Fair!
I really enjoy doing these events & meeting, talking with folks that follow the craziness of my page!
Today I heard of different ways my glazes were used that I hadn't thought of! Sharing ideas from customer's & myself is a bond that makes us all grow together with fun & unique food creations. Those that sampled my new items today said numberous times that they are "very different & unique than other canning vendors"! That's exactly why I do what I do & why I'm successful in what I do :)
So, on Sunday make a plan to come see what all this unique food chatter is about. There is something for everyone from sweet to spicy.

I LOVE my dandelions! My 3 gardens are about 1.7 acres total, which are all handplanted. I have 3 coops that house laying hens & ducks. All poultry are medicine & vaccine free. I canned a huge portion of my garden goods in 2020. Over 140+ cases of jars! Beets, kohlrabi, pickles, green beans, brussel sprouts, peppers, carrots, salsas & a variety of jams. OMG, Lisa! This peach mulberry jam is awesome! I just had some in my plain almond milk yogurt. I'm hiding the jam in the way back of the fridge and hoping the kids don't find it.

Farm fresh bread and eggs from my mom's farm. With a bed of spinach and some feta cheese, and a side orange! stay local people! Local farmers depend on it to survive! Wal-Mart won't miss your business, local farmers will. Plus if you catch her at the right time my mom will give you a tour to meet the animals and see where your food comes from! Tyson cant do that!!! Stay local! Go like her page!
