Big changes at Be the Light! 🤎

We will no longer be carrying baked goods from Sugar and Sass Cakery at the shop. We are so thankful for all the wonderful baked goods she has provided and for her willingness to bring some of our ideas for scones, muffins, and cookies to life! She’s an amazing baker, and we’re so grateful for the time we’ve had working together! ❤️

At this time, our breakfast burritos will be the only food item available at the shop while we work on some exciting things behind the scenes. Keep an eye out for what’s to come! 🤗

A reminder that tomorrow is our LAST flower sale of the season! With the risk of frost tonight, we’ve decided to wrap up our flower season this weekend. I’ll be harvesting everything I can from the field, along with some beautiful dahlias from Black Hill Blooms!

Come see us tomorrow and grab one last bouquet before the season comes to a close! 💐

Due to a rainy afternoon/evening I will not be harvesting flowers for Friday morning, but will have bouquets this Saturday 10/17 for our LAST flower sale of the year!!!!!!!!!!! If you’ve wanted one of our bouquets, but haven’t yet-Saturday is your opportunity!! A bittersweet feeling 💐

We’re looking for a barista to join our team! We’re looking for someone who is dependable, hardworking, kindhearted, and enjoys serving others.

As a business rooted in our Christian faith, we strive to lead with love, honesty, hard work, and compassion. We’re looking for someone who brings a positive attitude, genuinely cares about people, and wants to help create a welcoming environment for our customers and community.

Schedule needed:

•Thursday and Friday mornings
• Every other Saturday morning

Coffee shop or barista experience is a plus, but we’re happy to consider someone who is eager to learn!

Yesterday, we had the wonderful opportunity to be part of Adrian’s 4th Grade Career Day! I got to share with the kids how Be the Light came to be, why I started growing flowers in the first place, how to make espresso, and what it truly means to be the light of the world.

To be transparent, when the school counselor first reached out, I wasn’t quite sure what I was going to say or how I would present it all. But as I spent time rehearsing and walking through the ins and outs of our business, I realized there was something much bigger I wanted the kids to take away from our time together.

I wanted them to know that you don’t have to have it all figured out before you begin. Building something takes trial and error, plenty of failure, and a willingness to keep learning along the way. You can learn so much more than you think when you have the drive and determination to keep going.

Most of all, I wanted them to see that work can be about so much more than simply having a job. It can be about building something around your family, doing what you love, and finding ways to be a light in the world around you.

What a sweet reminder of why I started Be the Light in the first place. Somewhere along the way, it’s easy to get caught up in the day-to-day of running a business, but yesterday reminded me that this has always been about more than flowers and coffee. It’s about creating something meaningful, sharing what I love, and hopefully making a little difference in the lives of the people around me.

Happy Friday!! Today was such a fun one. 🤎 We sold out of flowers SO fast that I didn’t even get a chance to snap a picture with them all 😅

We got to see lots of sweet little faces, including the newest little member of our Be the Light family 🥹🤍 Emmalie Wackerman, made lots of canned drinks, and got to catch up with so many of our regulars!

Thank you all for making our mornings fly by and somehow making it not even feel like work. See you again tomorrow morning 🥰🙌
