Not all farms are created equal 🤣🐔
Sometimes you put hay in nice little nesting boxes in the coop for them to lay their eggs and that works great!
BUT
Sometimes they tell you, “Hey, I dont care about your nesting boxes. I wanna lay in these feeders & you’re gonna like it”
AND
You comply because it doesn’t have to look pretty or like Pinterest to work 🥰🤷🏻‍♀️🥚
ALSO
because when your chickens take a two month hiatus….
you don’t care where they’re laying, as long as they’re laying!!! ☀️

Here is the latest bird action:
This momma is a very rare breed called an Ayam Cemani. She went broody and just hatched these cute little fluff balls a few days ago all on her own🥹
These little guys should be really cool looking!

I haven’t posted in awhile but to make up for it I thought I’d share some of our fun chicken crosses with you all!! 🥰

All the chicken eggs we kept to hatch were either a Polish or Ameraucana hen egg

The Ameraucana’s are what you could consider an “Easter Egger”

Mine lays a pretty teal blue egg! 🥚

The Ameraucana’s are also easily identified by their “fluffy” cheeks

Honestly my Ameraucana is one of my friendliest chickens, she just enjoys being in my company😌

With all of our roosters being “decorative” we got quite the mix!

We have a Frizzle (feathers that are “frizzled” or curled”), a Polish (floofy top hairs) and a Red Bantam Cochin (small red rooster with feathers on his feet) Rooster

The first chick pictured will be one of the only ones NOT for sale because it is quite a rarity.
