Author Rita Mae Brown, MFH, Oak Ridge Fox Hunt, ( group photo, left) entertained Missouri’s William Woods University Equestrian Team and faculty with a weekend of foxhunting in Virginia. While visiting Horse Country, the team was surprised with tickets to the International Gold Cup, courtesy of Angie Rawie, a member of the Cloudline Hounds of Texas, in the area for a weekend at the Washington International Horse Show and International Gold Cup. On meeting the group in Horse Country, Angie offered the tickets so the equestrians could experience a day of great racing, too. It was a beautiful weekend; perfect for the rider’s first visit to Virginia horse country.
William Woods University has a comprehensive equestrian program. Click for information. http://www.williamwoods.edu/academics/equestrian/major_equine_gen_stu.asp
