Trying to eat healthier and accidentally discovering a fruit that tastes like dessert is a pretty good problem to have. 😂

Fresh figs are one of those foods people think they know—until they actually taste a ripe one.

Sweet. Jammy. Soft. Completely different from the processed fig flavor most people grew up with.

And on Saturday, September 19, we’re building an entire festival around them.

🍈 Figapalooza 2026 - Greenville's Fig Festival brings together fig growers, nurseries, farms, food businesses, artisans, homesteaders and fig enthusiasts for five hours at the Eastern Carolina Village & Farm Museum.

Come out and explore:

🌱 Fig trees, rare varieties and other plants
🍴 Local food, drinks and fig-inspired products
🛍️ Handmade, farm, pantry and homestead goods
🎤 Fig education with experienced growers and members of the wider fig community around noon
🎟️ A huge raffle with prizes from sponsors and vendors
🤝 Dozens of growers, makers and small businesses

Whether you already have a favorite fig variety or you’ve never tasted a fresh fig in your life, this is the day to come find out what all the fuss is about.

And yes—you may leave wondering why nobody told you fruit could taste this much like dessert.

Fresh milled flour is so much healthier than store bought flour and so far everything I've been baking with it has turned out so wholesome and delicious! Tonight I made oatmeal raisin cookies with finely ground organic soft white wheat and coarse ground organic oat groats for added texture and they hit the spot. The next step is to learn how to incorporate sourdough fermentation into these recipes for the additional nutritional benefits it provides.

🍈 ONE MONTH FROM TODAY: Figapalooza 2026 🍈

One month.

On Saturday, September 19, Figapalooza returns to Greenville for its fourth year—and if you’ve only seen the name pass through your Facebook feed, this is the post that tells you what the day actually is.

Figapalooza is Greenville’s Fig Festival, but you do not need to own a fig tree—or know anything about figs—to have a good time here.

Last year, more than 900 people came out and 40+ vendors filled the festival. This year we’re bringing together growers, nurseries, farms, restaurants, food businesses, artisans, homesteaders and members of the wider fig community for five hours at the Eastern Carolina Village & Farm Museum.

Here’s what you’ll find:

🌱 FIG TREES, PLANTS & GROWERS

Come looking for your first fig tree or your fiftieth.

Growers will be bringing fig trees, unusual varieties, fruiting plants, nursery stock and plenty of firsthand knowledge. If you’ve ever wondered why people get so obsessed with figs, this is a good place to find out.

🍴 COME HUNGRY

Figapalooza is not just a plant sale.

Expect prepared food, fresh drinks, baked goods, specialty foods, fig-inspired products, sauces, preserves, infused olive oils, balsamics and more.

🛍️ SHOP LOCAL & HANDMADE

You’ll also find handmade goods, artisan products, farm and pantry items, garden and homestead goods, specialty products and businesses you may never have encountered before.

🎤 FIG EDUCATION — AROUND NOON

This year we’re expanding the educational side of the festival with members of the wider fig community, including:

Danny Gentile — founder of figBid.com
Phil D’Angelis — Phil’s Figs
Randall — Flomaton Famous
Miles George — Trees & Bees / MilesFig

We’ll share the final program schedule as we get closer, but plan to be around the raffle area around noon.

🎟️ THE RAFFLE IS GETTING RIDICULOUS

Sponsors and vendors have already contributed fig trees, restaurant gift cards, merchandise, food, handmade goods, pet baskets, specialty products and much more.

One highlight alone: Agri Supply has contributed two separate $150 gift cards — $300 total.

And that’s one prize donor.

Sign up for the Forest of Eden email list at Figapalooza and receive your first raffle ticket free.

The raffle drawing is planned for 1:00 PM.

Most importantly, Figapalooza is a chance to spend a Saturday around people who grow things, make things, cook things, build things and genuinely enjoy talking about what they do.

Come for the figs.

Come for the food.

Come for the plants.

Come for the shopping.

Come to learn something.

Or come because you’ve been seeing for months and finally want to know what all of this is about.

One month to go.
