We’ve had a bit of a rough start to our 2026 calving season, but made up for it a bit today. Woke up to these two cuties, and a mama that has definitely claimed both, and doing a good job of keeping them fed. It’s been many years since we’ve had a set of twins, and this is the first successful set.

This proves that I can’t do anything without someone on my back. This kitten, “Spot”, has evidently taken it upon herself to be my new shop cat. She “helped” replace an air tank on a truck today. Note: She was black and white when the job started, not grey. Yes, she has 7 toes on each of her front feet. 😳🤦🏼‍♂️

Had a great Saturday harvesting. I’m not sure if these two realized it, but this is the first time in about 22 years that dad, Scott and I were on the same harvest job at the same time. Glad I could make it happen, and thank you to Scott Ferris for coming over to play. Also, a big thanks to the Ortner, and Arens families for inviting us to help again. Made me happy.

Moose and I brought this big guy home yesterday. Registered Simental from our good friends at Mottle Cattle in Palmer, NE. We love his bulls, and the heifers cross great on our Irish bulls. Thanks Matt!

Great performing commercial Irish Black bull needing a new home. He’s 2 years old and has only been used on a few replacement heifers with great results. Great temperament. He will be tested. His calves are on site, and more pictures can be sent. Please message if interested.

We’ve been without this old girl for 4 weeks. She’s been getting major hail repairs done from our May storm last year. Luckily, a lot of things that needed replaced we wanted to change anyways. Blue got a new grill with extra bars, a drop sun visor and a new roof cap with extra lights along with the body and paint work. She isn’t done, but they never are. The body shop at Nebraska Peterbilt in Grand Island did a damn good job. Thanks to Jeremy Long for replacing a bunch of vinyl lettering as well. Dad can’t wait to get behind the wheel of the old girl again. (I can’t wait for that either.)
