Slow Cooker Garlic Butter Steak
Tender, juicy steak cooked low and slow in a rich garlic-butter sauce. An easy, comforting dinner that pairs beautifully with mashed potatoes, rice, or roasted vegetables.
Ingredients
2½–3 lb beef chuck roast, sirloin roast, or steak pieces
4 tbsp butter
6–8 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup beef broth
2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp smoked paprika
½ tsp black pepper
½ tsp salt, or to taste
1 tsp Italian seasoning
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water, optional for thickening
Fresh parsley, for garnish
Instructions
Season the beef: Pat the beef dry and season all over with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and Italian seasoning.
Sear: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the beef for 2–3 minutes per side until nicely browned.
Load the slow cooker: Place the beef in the slow cooker. Add butter and minced garlic.
Add the sauce: Pour in beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and soy sauce.
Cook: Cover and cook on LOW for 5–7 hours, or until the beef is tender. Avoid overcooking if using naturally tender steak cuts.
Thicken the juices: If desired, transfer the cooking liquid to a saucepan. Mix cornstarch with water, whisk it in, and simmer until thickened.
