Edit- pending pick up next week 🙂
If you’re looking for a kind, honest mare with a wonderful disposition, this girl is worth a look. She is approximately 14 years old, stands about 14.2 hands, and has been an absolute sweetheart since arriving here. Photos are from today.
She is exceptionally gentle, quiet, and easy to be around. She has not offered to buck, rear, bolt, kick, or bite and has been a pleasure to handle. She stands quietly to be mounted and walks off calmly under saddle.
She gets along well with other horses and is very low in the pecking order. She has also been exposed to goats, alpacas, dogs, bicycles, drift carts, active kids, fly spray, loud noises, and normal farm activity without being bothered.
She stands tied, loads well, and is good for the farrier. She is reportedly broke to drive, but I have no personal experience driving her and cannot verify that claim.
Please read: She came to us with extremely long toes. She had her feet trimmed 1–2 weeks ago and will need approximately 2–3 more trims to restore proper hoof balance. She has been completely pasture sound and was been sound at the walk under saddle. Because her feet are still being rehabilitated, I am not representing her as fully ride-ready beyond light riding at this time and am choosing not to do additional under-saddle work until her feet are where they should be.
She does have a few cosmetic lumps and bumps on her legs that do not currently affect her comfort or soundness.
Videos are available of her under saddle, walking, and loading. Additional photos, including her legs and teeth, are available upon request.
This is an incredibly kind mare with a wonderful mind. She would make a great partner for someone looking for a safe, sensible horse who simply needs a little more time for her feet to finish recovering. See last photo for carrots. Edited to add the mentioned photo that I apparently neglected to select.
