Another quick dinner idea! Apparently I’m on a BBQ kick this summer.

🍔BBQ CHEESEBURGER SLIDERS🍔

- 1 lb ground beef
- garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tsp minced garlic
- 1/4 to 1/3 c. BBQ sauce
- 1 package of Hawaiian rolls
- sliced cheese of choice (I used cheddar)
- French fried onions
- Cooked bacon
- 1 tbs butter melted

*Preheat oven to 350F
1. Brown hamburger with onion and garlic powder, salt and pepper (or favorite seasoning mix)
2. Drain grease
3. Add minced garlic and saute for maybe a minute
4. Add BBQ sauce and mix well. Let cook on low until sauce is warmed through
5. Cut rolls in half lengthwise (to make tops and bottoms) and place the bottom half on a baking sheet
6. Add sliced cheese to bottom half, add beef mix on top of cheese, then bacon, and then French fried onions
7. Place tops on, then brush on melted butter. I sprinkled Kinders Buttery Steakhouse seasoning on top as well
8. Place sliders in the oven for 8-10 minutes

I’ve made these a couple of times now and they really hit the spot and don’t require a lot of effort.

✔️ No desire to sit over a hot stove

✔️ Need to feed the family quickly and before midnight

That’s where the slow cooker saves the day! I’m trying a new recipe today so I figured I’d share! Why am I excited? In addition to solving what I’m making for dinner tonight by 9 am, I have another recipe to put in my slow cooker arsenal that doesn’t contain condensed soup or cream cheese!

🏜️COWBOY SAMMIES🏜️

• 1 chuck roast
• 1-2 c. BBQ sauce
• 1 heaping TBS. minced garlic
• 1/2 large onion thinly sliced
• 1/4 c. brown sugar
• a few dashes of Worcestershire sauce
• jarred sliced jalapeños (to your hearts desire, I used maybe 8 and a splash of the juice)
• 1/2 lb of cooked bacon chopped or crumbled (could use precooked etc. could also just add to assembled sandwich at end)

Add everything to a slow cooker
Cook on low 6-8 hours
Shred the beef and stir well
Serve on bread of choice with cheese (cheddar or pepper jack), french fried onions, and possibly bacon/more bbq sauce

We have a beef and a half unclaimed going in on July 16th if you’d like to beef on hand to make your summers even easier! Give us a shout!

The goal is to always be growing, and at a rate that’s sustainable. We’ve been feeding pigs here for 4 years now; buying weaned pigs and feeding them out. The end of last year we decided to take the plunge and try breeding a couple of gilts we kept back. As of Tuesday we had our first litter of pigs born here. This means that every hog or beef bought from us going forward (with exceptions of buying new cow/calf pairs) will be a product of our farm from start to finish. That may be a small detail to some, but for us it’s something to be proud of ❤️
