When you are lifting weights, are you moving with purpose?💪🏼

If your goal is to strengthen or build muscle, you get so much more out of focusing on the muscle groups you are using rather than just going through the motions.

Can you be truly honest with yourself?

If you were quick with a stern yes, you may need to think a little deeper about the question.

If you’ve been truly honest with yourself, your answer should be more like “wow, that s**t hurts, but I try to push myself closer to the truth.”

We bury the ugliest parts of ourselves so deep that we have trouble finding it sometimes.

This is part of “dark work.” This is the part of growth we hate to do. Yet, it is the only way through to the other side; this is sitting with uncomfortable feelings and emotions we have during our lowest moments.
And if you’ve worked with me to do this, you know this is your most hideous cry you’ve ever cried.

Please be strong, because it will be your biggest release♥️

🖤 Dark work is the opposite of light work. Light work, a concept most are familiar with, is that “hyping yourself up” and telling yourself empowering mantras, manifesting, and things of that nature.
🤍 Dark work is identifying the words that we (or other people) call ourselves that stings.
Why do these words hurt so much?
Why is it hard to sit with?
Where did these feelings come from?

Most of our identity is formed before the age of 7. So, believe me when I say you need to dig deep.

There’s more to you than you’ll ever be conscious of.

Once you miss a few workouts, it can be challenging to get back to it.
It starts to feel like a chore to fit into your day again. And the motivation to get your b***y out the door feels impossible.😔

If you feel like you just can’t seem to get yourself back to it, we challenge you to make a commitment.
❤️Commit to meeting a friend at the gym.
❤️Commit to taking a class.
❤️Commit to joining a meet-up group.
✨Commit to working with a trainer.
❤️Commit to feeling good.
❤️Commit to yourself.

Your first day back might be 10 minutes of lifting, and 30 minutes of texting between sets… BUT at least you showed up for yourself.

The important thing is that you are building back up to your desired routine. The sooner you do, as small as it may be, the closer you are to feeling good!

I promise you, you’ll never regret moving your body. Fitness is medicine ✨

When making changes to your nutrition & exercise, it is important to make them sustainable AND enjoyable; it will likely be hard to stay consistent with the plan otherwise! 

💪🏼 Make sure the changes you are making to your nutrition are sustainable. By this I mean, can you see yourself eating this way for the long term? Do you actually like what you are eating?

💪🏼 Make sure you enjoy your exercise! If you hate running, but are running every day, it will be hard to stay consistent. Try new things like lifting, swimming, walking, classes, etc! 

💪🏼 Practice changing small habits every day. Things will become more natural the more we do them! Even the smallest things make a big difference if they are sustained.

🚨BINGE EATING

I’m going to be so real with you all right now (and yeah, it’s a tad scary doing it on a public platform). Lil bit of story, lil bit of science.

I had struggled with binge eating & it took me YEARS to figure out how to rewire my brain. But I promise, there is a way out of it, though it is NOT linear.

I’ve been hearing it so often as a “confession” that I felt like people needed to hear it’s way more common than you think♥️

Binge eating affects 3x more than the number of people diagnosed with anorexia and bulimia combined.

And MOST suffer in silence, meaning that the actual number of people struggling with binge eating is probably much higher than that.

We often feel so alone in this struggle and wonder “why can’t I just get this under control?!”

It is frustrating, tiring, and emotionally draining.

Studies suggest that dopamine could be a factor in this, but it is still so difficult to really determine at this time.

But what i DO know is that the only way through this is with help.
It can require things such as cognitive behavioral therapy, removing toxic relationships from your life, counseling, depression medications, etc.

Our mission is to:
🤍help cease the binge eating
🤍discuss the physical and emotional factors of binge eating
🤍discuss steps toward long term recovery
