This morning was about the bees, taking off their winter gear and giving the some more space for the spring flower rush.
Happy everyone! Check out this awesome photo of my great grandfather (middle) doing those cowboy things back in the day. The love for the lifestyle has been passed down through generations and it's a part of who we are today.

According to the USDA, the average age of a U.S. farmer is nearly 60 years old. And as farmers look to the next generation to take on the job, the future remains uncertain.
Some yummy micro green peas, they taste a lot like a snap pea. You can literally just dip in some ranch like a snap pea.

What are Microgreens?
Microgreens are the earliest stage of a vegetable plant’s development, after the sprouting stage.
They are “living foods” – Purposefully utilized in their most nutritious and delicious state.
Why are microgreens healthier than regular greens like lettuce, spinach & kale?
✅ Their nutrient content is more concentrated
✅ Their vitamin and antioxidants levels are up to 40X higher than more mature greens
✅ They’re richer in macro minerals such as calcium, magnesium, phosphorus and potassium
✅ They’re richer in micro minerals such as iron, zinc and copper
✅ And I can go on and on… They’re richer in B vitamins, essential amino acids, folate etc.!
What are the top 4 microgreens that we specialize in growing?
1. Sunflower
2. Spicy Salad Mix
3. Broccoli
4. Red Russian Kale
One of the things I love most about these 4 varieties (other than the countless health benefits) is that they’re so easy to use!
In fact, if you want to taste real food and feel real health, I recommend you add them to virtually every single meal (You and your taste buds can thank me later!)
✅ Sandwiches & Wraps
✅ Salads
✅ Smoothies & Juices
✅ Soups
That’s just a few examples.
I encourage you to get creative and experiment with microgreens as they can add so much flavor, texture & color to your meals!

-Microgreens can be grown from a wide variety of seeds, including those from herbs, vegetables, and even flowers.

Here are some pics from this past years season! It was great, can't wait to start selling to our local customers.
Hey everyone, well at least everyone that might still be around. Rambling Oaks Farm basically died back in oohhh 2015ish I don't remember. Was sad but there we are.
However, there is some good news that came of all this. For the past several years we have been managing a farm all the way up here in New Hampshire. It has been super successful and along with the organization that we have been working for have decided that we are going to be open to selling to the public as opposed to just growing for this organization.
It is very exciting for us, and I am excited to provide some food for our local folks up here. I am writing this because most of you are in Oklahoma. So if you want to stop following us that is fine, or if you just like following along with our farms progress by all means ride along with us!!
Thanks for your support in the past and, especially when its this time of year, we miss Tulsa dearly.

Working on getting racks together for microgreens. Stopped and planted a flat of tomatoes though.
Not the most picturesque setup, but it produced a lot of food. Wish I had photos from later in growth. I am always so excited about harvesting stuff I never get pics from the end.

They may be small in scale, but they’re big on flavor and nutrition.
Boy this one goes way back too. I remember having such a hard time getting consistent growth with a few of these beds.
I was always afraid to show videos like this. I felt like it should be more, or people would expect more. The reality of it is a lot of food can come from a plot this size. Not sure why I chose to do 50ft beds, especially behind me were more 50ft beds. Today I would just do 100's. I guess I was watching to many urban farmer videos.
