One year ago today Sebastian was celebrating his 7 year work anniversary with us and his 23rd birthday- he was killed in an accident and we will never be the same. Please watch this video to learn more about his character and the legacy he leaves at SWISSLANE. (link in comments)
These are the memories, messages, and pictures that we, as a team, wanted to share with Sebastian's family. Sebastian worked at the farm for 7 years and basically grew up here. He made us all feel like a family. Sebastian's position as Hooftrimmer meant he visited every site every week- he knew everyone and made an impact that we will always cherish. We will continue to honor his legacy through the Sebastian Szymanski Ag and Trade Memorial Scholarship at Lowell Highschool and The Sebastian Szymanski Memorial Soccer Field at SWISSLANE Farms.

A few from our team share what they are thankful for:

Erick:
I am thankful because this year I had the opportunity to expand my skills in breeding. For example, working alongside Matt (Repro Specialist) I learned about embryo transfer and using the ultra sound for pregnancy checks.

Kevin:
I am most thankful for the Positive attitudes of the people I work with, it makes my job easier when everyone chips in to get the job done and we overcome challenges together.

Everardo:
I am most thankful for opportunities to learn and grow. Also, I love Interacting with all the great people here and being on a team that values leadership.

Ryan: I’m most thankful for the sustainability factor of feeding cows- my work is never done because the cows are always hungry
