🌽 5,208 TONS. ONE DAY. ONE CHOPPER. 🌽
On Friday September 25, the Alto cropping crew chopped 5,208 tons of corn silage with 1 chopper and 6 trucks. As far as we can tell, that beats the national records we've found (around 4,500 tons)!
Huge thanks to Full Force Custom Farming and Schaendorf Custom Farming! Every one of you made this happen. 😄

We are excited to share the great photos that were taken by Jorge from Alltech. Swisslane Farms proudly dedicated the new Sebastian Szymanski Memorial Soccer Field, celebrating Sebastian’s vision of bringing local dairy farm teams together through soccer. Six teams, family, friends, and community members joined us for a memorable day of competition and remembrance.
We also highlighted the Sebastian Szymanski Agriculture & Trade Scholarship, which supports Lowell High School students pursuing careers in agriculture and skilled trades. We are now working toward a $25,000 permanent endowment to keep Sebastian’s legacy alive for generations to come. There will be a Venmo link in the comments.
Thank you to our sponsors, players, volunteers, and community for making this day so special.

Swisslane is hosting a soccer tournament for dairy farms to celebrate the grand opening of the Sebastian Szymanski Soccer Memorial Field.

Swisslane está organizando un torneo de fútbol para las lecherías para celebrar la gran inauguración del Campo Memorial de Fútbol Sebastian Szymanski

Sebastian was our fearless hoof trimmer, and in March of last year, we unexpectedly and tragically lost him. One of Sebastian’s dreams was to organize soccer tournaments with other dairies, and this event is a way to honor his passion, his spirit, and his legacy.

The Game format will be a 8v8. El formato del juego será de 8 contra 8.

One year ago today Sebastian was celebrating his 7 year work anniversary with us and his 23rd birthday- he was killed in an accident and we will never be the same. Please watch this video to learn more about his character and the legacy he leaves at SWISSLANE. (link in comments)
These are the memories, messages, and pictures that we, as a team, wanted to share with Sebastian's family. Sebastian worked at the farm for 7 years and basically grew up here. He made us all feel like a family. Sebastian's position as Hooftrimmer meant he visited every site every week- he knew everyone and made an impact that we will always cherish. We will continue to honor his legacy through the Sebastian Szymanski Ag and Trade Memorial Scholarship at Lowell Highschool and The Sebastian Szymanski Memorial Soccer Field at SWISSLANE Farms.
