Sometimes life reminds you to slow down and appreciate the flowers that surround you; I’ll be missing the music festival in Arctic Valley this weekend and while I’m sad to be missing the event I was most looking forward to this summer, I’m proud of myself for making the right call. Recently my family experienced a profound loss and I’m just not prepared for such a full weekend, quite yet.

I’m looking forward to a couple fun markets in July and August, bakery orders are keeping me busy and life goes on. It’s just going to go on a little slower for me, for a little while, and I’m ok with that. ❤️

It’s the most wonderful time of the year: rhubarb season! 😍 I harvested the first batch tonight from my beloved, prolific patch and the resulting compote is heavenly. I’m freezing the majority of it for future bakes, but couldn’t resist making some rhubarb/white chocolate chip cookies with a light rhubarb glaze. Starting June off with a scrumptious bang! 😋
