Today was a rainy and drizzly day. It was an uneventful day for the horses.

Rick got some work done this evening, fixing some holes in one of the far pastures.

All in all, a quiet day.

Day 692 thoughts on the farm.

It was another beautiful morning with a full moon.

The day was overcast with a little bit of rain but comfortable. We had a relaxing day at the rodeo in Friendship.

When we got home, we got some chores done and then got our wagon modified to the way that we want it for hay rides. Rick is always happy to get the chainsaw out, lol!

Rick took me for a test drive on the trail, and it was incredibly relaxing and beautiful. We can’t wait to start offering fall hay rides!

Day 691 thoughts on the farm.

Rick had a lot of work to get done today. I was out of town for the day, but by the time I came home, he completed the bridge that we started yesterday, and he was brush hogging one of our pastures that never got hayed this year.

I came home to a beautiful sunny sky and all the horses looked quite content. It looks like they all had a good day.

It was a beautiful sunny day today. Rick and I did a lot of work in the back pasture. Well, he did a lot of work, I “helped”, by asking a lot of questions about what he was doing, lol!

Later in the day we went to look at a hay wagon that we found on FaceBook. It was just what we are looking for! I’m glad we got it, and that it was relatively close to home. That said, towing it home was a long 17 miles!😅

Day 689 thoughts on the farm.

The sky was very serious this morning and looked like heavy rain coming in. As I drove up the driveway to leave for work, I saw a rainbow, which was pretty amazing in against the dark sky.

The day cleared up and got nicer. Clyde was the busiest horse today, as he got a good workout. Leah has been working with him and they’re making some good progress.

I think it actually got hotter as the day went on, but it’s still a beautiful evening.

It was a very foggy morning, but turned out to be a beautiful day.

When I got home from work, Rick was unloading sawdust from his truck bed. I went down to the barn to help him do evening chores for a change.

The minis have me trained well to give them treats, lol! 🤷‍♀️

It was a nice night getting work done together.

Day 686 thoughts on the farm.

After a weekend away, I was home today to take care of things around the house.

The biggest job that needed to get done was cutting the grass, which I was able to do before the rain came in.

It was cooler and cloudy today, but still very pretty.

It was a quiet day at the farm. The weather was off on rain, but ended sunny and beautiful.

Rick and I returned today from being out of town for the New York State mounted shooting championship , held in PA, hosted by Stagecoach Outriders. Rick and Daisy had another successful competition and won their class!

Rick and Daisy have come a long way in the few months that they’ve been riding together. We are grateful for the experience that she had before coming to us. They had a lot of fun running six rounds this weekend.

I’m thankful for the sets of friends that we have to take care of the farm while we are away. It’s also great to be home!

It was a quiet day. The horses are doing well. We’ve had enough time go by with our split herd that we are feeling comfortable about where we’ve landed there.

Any day that is calm and uneventful is a good day!
