I’m baking cookies for a school function tonight, and naturally, I handed one to each of my kids for a little “taste test.”
As I passed them out, I casually informed them that my cookies had been voted BEST COOKIE IN THE WORLD. 🏆🍪
First, they had some questions about the voting process. (Tough crowd.)
“How did people vote?”
“Oh, it’s a mom thing,” I explained. “All the moms vote, and they VOTED MINE THE BEST!”
Well, that settled it. They all agreed that my cookies were, in fact, the best cookies in the world. The democratic process works.
Then my sweet 8-year-old daughter looked at me with the most sincere little face and said, “One day, I hope you’ll give me the recipe.”

And I, being the loving and generous mother that I am, assured her that I absolutely would.
Y’all. 😂😂😂
She is going to be SOOOOO disappointed when she discovers that the sacred, highly coveted, world-renowned family recipe is just a slightly modified Nestlé Toll House recipe.
I have apparently spent years building a culinary legacy on chocolate chips and lies.
But GOSH, I love my kids. ❤️🍪
And honestly? If they think Mom invented the best cookie in the world, who am I to correct them? 😂
