I make three birthday cakes a year (April, May and June) 1) Mila’s creative birthday design 2) a chocolate cake with vanilla icing for my brother and 3) a cookie cake or chocolate fudge cake for Jamie’s birthday.

I missed making my brother’s cake this year and I wasn’t sure if I would be able to make the cookie cake either. However, Mila and I decided that tradition is tradition, so here’s the chocolate chip cookie cake that Jamie he loved, decorated by Mila.

I am devastated to share that my husband, Jamie Tucker passed away yesterday May 11. He was simply everything. A loving husband, father, son, nephew, grandson, cousin, uncle and friend. He loved baseball, a decent hot dog, and a great rock concert.

We are heartbroken and still trying to process this unimaginable loss. We are grateful for the love, prayers, and support from everyone during this difficult time.

When I shared these lemonade cookies in my stories a couple weeks back I got a bunch of DMs looking for the recipe. Unfortunately for those people the recipe was still in my head. 😂 I managed to write it all down and take a couple of glamour shots along the way. The inspiration for these cookies was a large diet lemonade from Chick-fil-A. I wanted to see if I could replicate that sour/sweet combo. I added a healthy amount of lemon zest to the cookie dough and topped the cookies with a glaze flavored with lemon zest, juice and a dash of lemon extract.
