We did something today we don't do very often, but it was a favor for a friend. Removed a small hive of bees from inside a beautiful old house. Found the gorgeous dark striped queen and settled them into their new house. It's always fascinating to see how they set themselves up without human intervention.

You may have to zoom in really far but these cells are chock full of eggs. This is not to say a new queen practicing can't also fill a cell with eggs but this was definitely a laying worker 😉

Not the greatest video, because as I'm sure most of y'all know it's not easy to use your phone with a sticky glove on, but in case you've never seen it here's a video of a queen laying a few eggs.

With the weather so back and forth, we decided it would be a good time to break out our newest investment at the honey house. Earlier this year we purchased a wax melter from Maxant Honey Processing Equipment, and we absolutely love it.
What would have taken us days to accomplish took us probably a few hours. Our favorite thing about Maxant is that all of their products are made in the U.S. 😉
On a different note, we are toying with the idea of selling some wax. If you are interested please reach out!
