Rebel FINALLY gave birth yesterday afternoon and into the late evening. She had 6 babies (4 girls, 2 boys )and they all are just so cute and fuzzy!!! I missed having fuzzy Duroc piglets around the farm!!! The first baby born was a boy and he was all about coming up to me and rubbing on my legs. So I picked him up and gave him some loves and his first selfie!!!

Penelope and Smudge's babies are getting bigger and looking so cute!!! Penelope's babies were messing with the hose and drinking the water dripping out. A couple of Smudge's babies were coming up to me and nudging my fingers and a couple were saying hello to Aurora and were nibbling on her ear through the fence!!

Smudge was next on the baby list!!! She had 11 babies, 3 were still born, unfortunately. And last night, I noticed that 1 of the boys legs weren't working. I tried getting him to walk, but he kept splaying his legs. I was hoping he would get the hang of it by morning, but we checked on them and that little one didn't make it. So, today we have 7; 5 girls and 2 boys. They're all eating and fighting over who eats where!! Smudge is a good first time momma!!! 🩷💚

Penelope gave birth to 5 babies; 1 stillborn, 3 boys and 1 girl. Her first one was at 12:30am and the last one was around 3:30am. We aren't sure why she had so few, but we are so thankful for what she has given us. She seems to be doing okay and the 4 babies have been nursing since they came out!!! They are so cute and soft and they love exploring the pen!!!

I gave Penelope and Smudge a bath today!!! 🐖🧼🚿 I wanted to make sure they were fairly clean, so when they have their babies, the babies have a clean nursing station!!! I also pressure washed their pens, and I even got the extra farrowing pen ready for Rebel since she's due at the end of next week!!

I've also realized, I'm too OCD when it comes to pressure washing....it takes me forever!!! 🤪

Our new "Piglet Watching System"!!!👀 Baby monitors are not just for humans, they're perfect for watching our mommas who are due in the next day or 2!!!🐷 Ms. Penelope is due Sunday, but we don't want to miss anything when she goes into labor, so I'm the lucky one who gets to keep an 👁 on her all night!!🌙🥴 I'll be sure to update everyone with pictures of piglets soon!!! 🥰

Another cute piggie has joined BNF!!!! Meet SMUDGE!!!!! 🥰

Smudge comes to us from Shipley Swine Genetics. She is pregnant and due June 26th!!!!

Smudge is super friendly, has the cutest little snout, 🐽 and loves belly rubs!!!

Rebel comes to us from Shipley Swine Genetics and she is pregnant, and due July 7th!!! 🐖

She's a little skittish still, but we plan on winning her over in no time!! She enjoyed her watermelon treats today and tomorrow she'll get some hard-boiled eggs!! She just doesn't realize how spoiled she's going to be here on the farm!!! 🍉🥚
