Why are chickens so funny???

Hello Everyone! We just wanted to give everyone an update about what we have been up to this year. It has been hard to keep up with our chickens between work and the millions of things we try to dabble with. This year, progess with our chickens was put on the back burner. We only did a very small hatch this spring with some bantam Barnevelders and Americanas but no Silkies this year. We continue to struggled with egg production on my Bearded Silkies. The Non-Bearded Silkies have no problems with egg laying but seem to enjoy ripping out each other's crests so they always look a hot mess.
With all this aside, my hope is to make it to the two main Florida shows coming up in the next few months but will likely only have the younger Barnevelders to see how they do. Looking forward to the next year, we hope to get a lot of things accomplished this winter to set us up for success with our chickens for next year.
