Goodness…it’s been a long while since I’ve posted. I’m proud to say that the first steer we raised were a success! Free range beef that were supplemented with grain the last three months. Both steer halves were spoken for and did not disappoint.

Here is a photo of our wayward steer, Rib-Eye, who decided to visit our neighbor. Will and I were able to herd him back over the fence where he came through, (on foot of course, because it’s so overgrown). Wore me out so I decided to grill a steak for dinner.

Me and Will had to walk our north fence line this week looking for breaks and our wayward steer. Angel Valley Ranch is part of the historic Cross Timbers Ancient Forest, famous for its seemingly impassable trees and undergrowth. Beautiful, rugged, and a haven for wildlife.

Bullet once again makes the Monday morning post. The surgeon doesn’t need to see him unless the ear flares up again. He had also been cleared to ride. Maybe I can buy a little more hay!

In order to meet the anticipated need for more food as populations grew, to increase output we ended up with poisoned soil and food, and it’s still happening.
