Some of you may or may not know that this farm was started to help us sustain ourselves on food that is minimally processed without chemical additives and pesticides 🤢☠️

And this has many parts to it so behind our house is a large greenhouse. And inside that greenhouse it’s tomato season!!!

I grew up watching my grandparents put food away each year, like storing potatoes in the dark, scary basement bins but mostly it was canning!!
I watched my grandmother can everything.

Every year we spend hours canning. Today I am trying a batch of ketchup and later sauces and salsa.

Do any of you can? What tips and tricks have you learned? Or were taught? Post them below!

We attended our last show of the year yesterday at the Saratoga County Fair! This show is a favorite for the relaxed fun atmosphere with great people and it is always very well run and organized, thank you!

Our judge was Danielle Carolei and here’s how it went!

Nubians
Scotchbriar Wild Lacey was a single entry in her 0-4 mo old class so by default she was 1st 🥇 but she went on to win Reserve Champion🏆The judge had some very nice things to say about her and I think she may have a promising future in the show ring!

Nigerians
