🐮 MIDWEEK MOO FACT: BONE BROTH 🥩🍲

There’s something special about knowing exactly where your food comes from. 🤎🥩

We took our beef bones and turned them into a rich, homemade bone broth—slowly cooked until every bit of flavor and goodness was pulled from the bones.

But did you know bone broth is more than just delicious?

When beef bones are slowly cooked, collagen and connective tissue break down into gelatin, giving bone broth that rich, jiggly texture when chilled. It also provides protein, amino acids, and minerals, making it a flavorful addition to soups, gravies, sauces, rice—or delicious all on its own.

And one of our favorite parts? Nothing goes to waste.

From our pasture to your table, we believe in using the whole animal, cooking from scratch, and making the most of what we raise.

That’s what Raised Right is all about. 🤠🤎

A bag of beef bones can become something pretty special. 🐮🍲

Hometown Pride 🐯

We had the honor of joining Texas Farm Bureau Insurance tonight in serving dinner to the Arp Tigers Varsity football team and their dads! 🐯🏈

There’s something extra special about getting to support the team that represents our hometown and our alma mater. 🏈 Being part of the Arp community and getting to pour back into the young men who proudly wear those Tiger stripes is something we’re truly grateful for.

Thank you, Melissa Busby with Texas Farm Bureau Insurance, for letting us be a part of such a special evening! And to our Tigers—we’ll be cheering you on all season long!

🐄 WHAT’S HAPPENING WITH AMERICA’S BEEF SUPPLY?

You may have noticed beef prices changing at the grocery store, heard about major processing plants closing, or wondered why cattle and beef seem to be getting more expensive.

There’s a bigger story happening behind the scenes.

The U.S. cattle herd has been shrinking for years. As of July 1, 2026, the U.S. had approximately 94.2 million cattle and calves, while the nation’s beef-cow herd was down another 1% from the previous year. The projected 2026 calf crop is also down 2%.

That matters because you can’t simply create more cattle overnight.

A cow has to be bred.
She has to carry a calf for roughly nine months.
That calf has to grow.
And eventually, that animal becomes the beef that reaches your table.

So when the breeding herd gets smaller, the effects can reach all the way from the pasture to the grocery store.

For consumers:
Less available cattle can mean higher beef prices and fewer opportunities to find beef at the prices we’ve been accustomed to.

For ranchers:
Higher cattle prices can be good for the value of the animals we raise—but higher costs for cattle, feed, land, equipment, fuel, processing and everything else it takes to raise them also mean that producing beef is becoming more expensive.

And there’s another piece of the story.

Major beef processors are now restructuring because there simply aren’t enough cattle to keep all of their facilities operating efficiently. Tyson recently announced the closure or sale of several beef facilities, citing the severe cattle shortage and the financial pressure it has created.
That doesn’t mean there is suddenly no beef.

It means the entire beef industry is adjusting to a smaller cattle supply.

At Agent 0 Ranch, this is one of the reasons we believe in knowing where your beef comes from.

We believe in raising cattle responsibly, working with our local processor, and building relationships directly with the people who enjoy the beef we raise.

When you buy beef directly from a ranch, you’re not just buying a steak.

You’re supporting the people who raise it, the processors who handle it, and the local agricultural community that keeps this industry moving.

We don’t know exactly what the next few years will look like for the cattle industry. Rebuilding a cow herd takes time.

But we do know this:

American beef doesn’t start at the grocery store.

It starts with a cow, a calf, a rancher, a pasture—and a whole lot of work.

And we’re proud to be part of it. 🇺🇸🐄

🥩 KNOW YOUR BEEF. KNOW YOUR FARMER. 🐂

Nearly 30,000 pounds of raw beef recently hit a recall after the USDA found that the imported product had not gone through the required U.S. import reinspection process. The recalled beef was distributed in Texas and Florida. (The Washington Post (https://www.washingtonpost.com/health/2026/08/11/30000-pounds-beef-argentina-recalled-two-states/?utm_source=chatgpt.com))

And while this particular recall doesn’t mean every package of imported beef is unsafe, it’s a good reminder of why knowing where your food comes from matters.

When you buy local beef, you have the opportunity to ask questions.

👉 Where was this animal raised?
👉 Who raised it?
👉 Where was it processed?
👉 What standards were followed?
👉 Can I actually talk to the people who produced my food?

At Agent 0 Ranch, we believe your beef should have a story — and you should know that story.

From the pasture, to the processor, to your freezer. 🐂➡️🥩➡️🏠

Know your farmer. Know your beef. Support local.

Because when you buy local, you’re not just buying beef — you’re investing in the people and farms right here in our community. 🇺🇸
