Honcho 1.3. Still carrying the energy of Honcho with us. 🌈❤️
Thank you, Honcho, for trusting us to feed this beautiful community.
As a q***r-led and q***r-powered team, being part of a festival created with so much intention means more than simply showing up to cook. It means being able to work, create, celebrate, and feed our own community in a space where we feel seen, safe, and completely ourselves.
So much love and work goes into making Honcho happen, from the people dreaming it up and planning every detail, to the crews working behind the scenes, to every person who shows up and brings the magic to the weekend.
And then there were all of you. The people we had the privilege of feeding. Some of the most loving, joyful, patient, and genuinely grateful guests we could ask for. Hearing your thank-yous, seeing you come back to our stand, and watching you enjoy the food made every long prep day and every crazy service completely worth it.
And a very special thank you to my team!!! my beautifully dysfunctional, deeply caring family. The people who worked the long hours, solved problems on the fly, laughed through the chaos, took care of each other, and somehow kept feeding hundreds of people with love. Kitchens are never perfect, families definitely aren’t either, but I wouldn’t have wanted to do this with anyone else. I’m incredibly proud of what we did together.
Food is how we take care of people. Getting to do that for our q***r community, surrounded by this much love, is something we won’t forget.
Thank you to the entire Honcho team, our incredible dysfunctional family, and every single person we fed.
Our hearts, and hopefully your bellies and some other things 💦are very full.
With love,
La Tropi Kitchen
