Last night ended in the ER for me, and today I feel like I need to say something—not as a business owner, not as someone trying to stay strong, but simply as a human being.
My PTSD and the stress I’ve been carrying have started affecting me physically. I passed out, hit my eye, and yesterday I couldn’t see properly. The ER had to make sure I wasn’t having a stroke or dealing with a detached retina. Thankfully, those were ruled out, but I still have to follow up with an ophthalmologist.
And as if that wasn’t enough for one day, Kevin was bitten by a black widow.
We are tired. We are overwhelmed. We are human.
Please remember that you never truly know what someone is carrying behind the smile, the business posts, the jokes, or the words “I’m fine.”
I have also learned a painful lesson through all of this: be very careful who you trust with the deepest parts of yourself. People you once believed you could confide everything in can sometimes take the things you shared during your most vulnerable moments and use them against you.
True, genuine people are hard to find.
But I refuse to allow what other people do to change my heart or destroy my faith.
“The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” — Psalm 34:18
God sees what happens behind closed doors.
God knows the truth when others don’t.
God knows every tear, every fear, and every battle we have fought quietly.
So I will keep going.
I’m still going to love my family. Especially Kevin my whole strength and world.
I’m still going to care for our animals.
I’m still going to work hard.
I’m still going to have faith.
And when life knocks me down, with God’s help, I will get back up.
Before you judge someone, talk about them, photograph them, watch them, or intentionally make their life harder, please remember:
There is a human being on the other side of it.
A human being who may already be fighting a battle you know absolutely nothing about.
“Be kind and compassionate to one another.” — Ephesians 4:32
Kindness costs nothing. Compassion costs nothing. But the way you treat another human being can leave a mark you may never see.
Please, just be kind. ❤️🙏
Faith over fear. God knows the truth, and that is enough for me.
