I want to thank you all for your support for this page!

Tiger Lily Kitchen Co will be permanently deleted tomorrow. It was really fun, and I really, truly am passionate AF about food.

However, I've taken some time to align more with my true calling and path and it looks different!!

I can't tell you how excited I am to start on this new part of my journey.

Transforming, rebirthing, and renewing the vision!

Keep an eye out for new things on the horizon :)

Love always,

Alaina

Aaaand now begins the shaggy stage.

Oh the practice of honoring and appreciating the in-between stages of life (and I'm not just talking about hair) πŸ˜‰

Here's your daily reminder that YOU are beautiful, worthy, and quite literally, life in action. Wow!!

You're doing the damn thing, even if it doesn't fit your idea of what you "should" be doing, what you "should" look like, or what you "should" feel like. I dare you to just be however you are NOW, and love that. Growth is inherent to life. Patience. You got this. We got this.

Happy holidaze/christmas/newyears/vacation/kwanza/hannukah/birthday(?!)/anything!!!

Did anyone do any sustainable gift wrapping this year? I remember thinking my dad was so weird for wrapping gifts in newspaper πŸ˜… Now I'm glad he did! This was my take this year. These cute lil jars are 100% reused! Do you recognize any of them?? 🧐 (hint: , olives, and horseradishπŸ˜‚)

I know removing labels can be a pain; here's what I do that causes the least amount of bitching!:
Fill a bucket or sink with HOT ASS WATER, add a few cups of white vinegar, a few glugs of dish soap, mix and soak the jars in it for at least an hour. Most of the labels will slip right off - however you can use a spoon to scrape the more ornary ones.

Inside is a chocolate drizzled fruit and nut medley (toasted cashews, almonds, walnuts, pistachios + dried gojis, cherries, and cranberries). Yuuuhummm!!! I literally just mix all of the nuts and fruit on a sheet tray, drizzle it with a ton of melted chocolate, then pop it in the refrigerator to harden. Easy peasy and oh so delicious.

I hope you all are having a wonderful holiday season so far!! Happy last days of 2020! See ya next year πŸ˜‰

PONZU SESAME STEAK SALAD

I posted this on my story awhile ago but with roast beast on the menu this week I thought it'd be appropriate to revisit!

Got leftover steak? If ya'll are anything like me it's no fun eating it cold OR re-heating it past medium rare.

Instead, I invite you to make this ponzu sesame steak salad for lunch the next day or two. WOO! What a beautiful way to not waste that precious beast, tantalize the tastebuds, AND change up the classic holiday food vibe for a sec.

Here I mixed up some ponzu, sesame oil, chili flake, sesame seeds, green onion and cilantro, then poured it over cold, thinly sliced steak to marinate just a few minutes.

I really didn't measure at all but if I had to guess it's be something like this (for 1 serving):

1 tablespoon ponzu
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1 teaspoon black sesame seed
Pinch of red chili flake
Pinch of salt

^whisk or shake vigorously in a jar, pour over sliced steak, then top with:

1 sliced green onion
1 small tear of cilantro

This happens to pair exquisitely with Trador Joe's tamari sesame crackers and some roasted mushrooms 🀀 because .

I hope yall are having a great holiday so far - whatever that looks like for you this year! I'm looking forward to more hot chocolate, gf christmas cookies, and spiced red wine πŸ·πŸ˜»πŸŽ„

What is your or your family's traditional Christmas/holiday entreΓ©?? I'm talking anything from roast beat to chinese food...whatever makes you and yours happy! Share with us in the comments and let's see what variety we get!

Love love love!

NO WASTE FORBIDDEN RICE RAMEN

Today I posted on my story about making homemade veg/bone stock/broth with veggie butts and chicken bones - i.e. the valuable scraps we usually throw away only to rot in a landfill when really it makes a life changing stock to use in ALL OF DE TINGS.

I keep a gallon-sized plastic bag (that I literally use over and over again until it breaks) in the freezer and slowly add veggie + bone scraps over the course of a few months. When it's full and I have a day off it's STOCK DAYYYY! Yip! I usually do it in the instapot but since I was piddlin' around the house today I chose to do it low and slow on the stovetop bc πŸ₯° (I'll take that ANYDAI over a nasty scented candle bc FYI - anything artificially scented actually wrecks havoc on our hormones - thanks, .funktional.nutritionist!!)

After it simmered for like 4 hours I strained out all of the now veggie *goop* and used the stock as a base for this ramen! I added frozen peas at the last minute to the cooked noods and put that all on top of a huge bed of fresh spinach. Last, I topped it all with shredded carrot, cabbage, cilantro, a squeeze of lime, a s**t ton of kimchi sriracha, and a mothaf**kin' poached egg!!! Ya'll. So effin good. I did the poached egg dance when I was eating it. Yeah, that's a thing.

Hope you fed yourself something good today!!! Love love love and food πŸ’ž

Swipe for puppy dog eyes πŸ‘€

I used to think chia pudding was a thing you had to do 'overnight'. Turns out, it only takes 30 min tops. Plus, ITS EFFING SO SIMPLE, DELICIOUS, AND FILLING. Win win win.

Mix up 2-3 tbsp chia seeds with 1 cup of your favorite milk (mine=homemade cashew 4evur❀) and 1-2 scoops of unflavored collagen protein powder (for that extra UMPH to keep you full).

Let sit @ room temp for 20-30 min (a perfect amount of time to go meditate and do some gentle yoga moves IMOπŸ˜‰)

Top with your favorite things. Dis my favorite - (lots of) berries and toasted almonds.

Satisfaction. In. A. Bowl. Yummmm!!!

I used to do overnight oats a lot but I've been finding that my tummy doesn't really love oats or dairy anymore, so I'm REALLY happy to find this option - because you can definitely still do these overnight if you need to get up and go in the morning!

Have you tried chia pudding yet? Lmk your favorite toppings in the comments!! πŸ“πŸŒπŸπŸŠπŸ‡πŸŽπŸ₯πŸ‘πŸ’πŸ₯πŸ₯₯πŸˆπŸ‹πŸπŸ

A BERRY FREAKIN GOOD SMOOTHIE ⬇️

I was craving something sweet and easy this morning. This is what happened:

1/2 cup mixed berries
Handful cranberries
1 frozen banana
1/2 inch ginger, grated
Handful raw almonds
1 orange + a pinch of it's zest
3 scoops collagen (=18g protein)
1 tsp moringa powder (or a handful of spinach/whatever fun powder you wish to add)
Water to blend (start with about 1/2 a cup and add more if needed)

I totally forgot to add frozen cauliflower. If my brain was working I would have added a handful of that too.

Blend it all together and YUM. So tasty & it will actually keep you full until lunch (you can thank the protein+carb+fat combo).

Super happy I tried to get a lil *artsy* bc turns out using goji berries as a garnish adds a fun little crunch!! 10/10 reccomend.

Have you checked out my IG story highlights yet? The smoothie love continues over there β€πŸ“πŸ‘πŸ₯¬πŸ’πŸπŸŒπŸŠπŸ₯πŸ§‘
